Leaving Tübingen on the way home, crossing the Neckar river...

...and much higher up, a canal to one of many small hydro power stations on the river...

This canal was closed for maintenance recently, and it's scarily deep...

On my local Voie Verte (old railway line) this morning. I must have passed under this bridge a few thousand times over the last 10/11 years but I don’t recall ever stopping to photograph it.

It’s always puzzled me as to why the railway engineers went to all the trouble and expense of building this bridge when there’s a perfectly good road that connects both sides less than 500m away. But perhaps things were different 150 years ago when they built the line (and I’m sure they would be totally bewildered by the 21st century graffiti that now decorates the insides of the bridge).
