The internet tells me that my favourite bike cafe is permanently closed. Was just about to cycle there for a pasty! I'm gutted - does anyone in the York area know why?
Its clearly not recovered from the Great Northern Pastry Drought of 2017.
I blame the internet, on line shopping.
I'm not very clear what the internet has to do with a cafe and bike repair workshop closing because someone has taken over the lease and is planning to redevelop the premises as a cafe, bar and performane space.Sarah and Michael are in the process of taking over the lease for 148-150 Micklegate.
These buildings are now home to Your Bike Shed, comprising a bike repair shop at no 148 and a cycling-themed licensed café at in 150.
To see their plans come to fruition, the couple have asked City of York Council for permission to run a bar and brewery at the premises, and to extend the opening hours.
It would very much be in the fashion of a larger Fossgate Social, which they have established as an easy-going and friendly cafe during the day and bar at night.
“The Micklegate property is a good fit for a second venue along the same relaxed style,” they say in their application.
Taking a long time to recover from that.whats next shortage of co2 is my prediction
That rally isnt very good and thats putting it nicely,I've been a few times and wont be going again.Theres better places to visit in York like Cycle Heaven. They do nice food as well.

I may be heading there myself to meet some of said cycling friends. And possibly a large ginger labrador.Always meant to try Cycle Heaven. Will do now.
