Just tagged this snail sliming it's way around one of our strawberry pots .

Last Sunday at local lake.

Cycling near Wilmslow in Cheshire this morning and I heard an Oystercatcher flying over. What it was doing in the middle of Cheshire in June I've no idea. It's a long way from both the coast and their breeding sites

Oycs flight call is unmistakeable. An incredibly loud "peeeep" every few seconds

Seems my pond has been a breeding ground for dragonflies

I've counted over 20 of these nymph remains

This fella was out and about in my garden this afternoon at about 3 o'clock so I put some water out.
This pic was this evening at about 8.

I have to admit it has me scratching my head for a minute.
I'm pretty sure it's a juvenile Starling. The shape and bill is normal Starling but the plumage is somewhat weird, maybe an effect of the sunlight

Thanks, that’s interesting as we do have so juveniles, but I was confused about the tail, eyes, and longer neck than I thought for starling.

It doesn’t look the same, though that’s no doubt my ignorance 😀

Yep.. This one lives in next doors garden. We usually have one in our hedgehog house too.

I think it’s too big for a juvenile Dunnock, and too long?

Maybe a juvenile blackbird? Looking at the tail, I’m sure it’s a blackbird!
