usual ride, mix of woodland, marshy scrapes, parkland etc.

Blackcap in woodland bordering the Nene. No photo but i've realised their song is quite robin like but less 'watery'
Lots of Wren heard in the same location, green woodpecker being quite vocal, ring necked parakeets ditto, again, just couldnt see them.

The scrapes are quite empty but a cuckoo being very vocal, annoyingly, just couldnt see it. In hedges nearby, Great tits, Long Tailed Tits
Greenfinch... i havnt seen them in so long

Blue tit sat watching me...watching him.

Lots of warblers around, again, no sighting. Just an hour out there.

Usual haunts today..
Sightings include
Heron

Grass Snake (swimming across the Nene). Not far from the above heron so that'd have been interesting if they came across each other.

2x Kingfishers in different parts of the Nene. One splendidly vivid..the other headed away from me and distant..

2x Green Woopecker (could have been tge same one perhaps)

Blackcap in woodland, very vocal.

Various Tits.

2x Muntjac deer meandering across the scrapes (wet, boggy and with dense plantlife)

Pair of Teal. Lots around a few weeks ago, most set off on their migration i guess.

Lovely pair of Moorhen with two chick's about the size of tomatoes

Orange Tip butterflies, plenty of them, also
Small Whites and Peackock

Heard...
Cuckoo. Frustrating because its been in the same place for two days but just cant see it.

Song thrush in woodland

Chiffchaff, wren, Robins, various warblers in the scrapes, doubtless why the cuckoo is there.
