Sat on the back door step and two Bullfinches landed in the rosebush in front of me, carefully lifted the phone to get a photo of them and the shrew that was passing underneath my legs without me realising suddenly bolted and spooked them. Amazing.

Female Blackcap. This one confused me iu must admit, i thought it was a warbler but didnt see the brown cap until i downloaded it.

Yesterday, a probably weasel shot across the path in front of me.
Juvenile Great Crested Grebe over on the main lake, their neck and head has white and black stripes.
5x Goosander seen on the big lakes too, went and had a look but no sign for me.

Not sure about the Blackcap; the chestnut cap is usually much more distinct and the brown wing coverts ought to be grey. The black tipped beak with a paler base also looks wrong for Blackcap.
Possibly a juvenile or female Whitethroat? Great photos as usual!

I spent a while cross referring warblers, leg colour, bill shape etc and was struggling to nail it down.
Our resident expert took one look when I queried it, his instant reaction was Blackcap, perhaps an older juvenile.
The dark bill tip may be shadowing from other surrounding branches, its less.prominent in other shots in the same group. Its so easy to over expose and that can easily blow out the true colours...as if warblers aren't difficult enough !!!
Blackcaps are very common here so I bowed to his far superior knowledge.

Saw a young Woodpecker but couldn't say for certain which one and couldn't get close enough for a decent pic.

Was saying to my partner that the amount of wildlife in the garden was getting a bit crazy,
when for the first time a Heron landed near the veg plot.

This moth was in trap this morning

Woke up to a repeated cheep cheep. A small fledgling must have wandered inside the house last night, hidden itself and now wanted attention. If we approached it played dead. It then hid behind the fridge freezer. Finally managed to get it outside. Hopefully the cheep there brought it's parents. Poor thing.

Couple of glowworms in the garden last night. Here’s one of them.

New camera time and almost immediately i can see i'm having far more 'keepers' and very very few immediate 'rejecters'
Its far more ergonomic in its controls, within a very short time i was finding exactly which button / dial to press / turn, something you need to do very fast with wildlife photography
A couple quick ones...Green Sandpipers, a pair of them. Taken at some distance so i'm really pleased how its kept the detail
