I was over at Horsey Gap this morning. There were no seals on land by the gap but a small loose group of around 20 just offshore. I'd not seen it before but they were mostly star gazing as they basked. Usually I've seen them with their heads level as they swim. But today seemed devoted to whisker tanning.

The leaf cutting bee has been on our conker tree

And taking that picture caused this moth to move but not quick enough to get it with the wings open

Hundreds of ladybirds here...are we seeing the spawning of a glut of them like years ago ?
Theyre literally landing on the kids, play area, signs, everywhere...

A nice young Starling on the feeder. I dont like Starlings on there as they decimate everything......but i make an exception here

20ft from our holiday static is a large pond surrounded by shrubs and trees, ducks and moorhen plus chicks.
This morning it all went a bit mad around the pond, birdlife everywhere blackbirds, great tits, blue tits, swallows swooping around everywhere, dunnocks, greenfinch, goldfinch, all sorts for a good 45 minutes, I did wonder if there had been a load of flying ants or similar but its cool and damp today..but something seemed to send them all into a frenzy.
Later, a hare just loped across without a care in the world..theres a field nearby where we often see 4 or so in the late evening, grazing the grass I assume.

early out this morning, was so quiet until the suns rays broke through, even then not a very exciting day out there..
Watched two young Roe deer bucks chase each other round a paddock, not sure if theyre being territorial (theyre second year young i think) or just playful. Moving too fast to get ny decent shots but this was one of them

Later, a probable warbler flitting around, can't ID it

Plain appearance, with no distinctive features, suggests possible Garden Warbler?

Looks a likely candidate. Can you persuade it to open its wings?
"Possibly the most abundant of our larger moths, this species can be found throughout Britain, and numbers are often enhanced by large migratory influxes in the south.

It exhibits a wide range of colour forms and patterns, although the yellow hindwings bordered with black remain pretty constant."
according to ukmoths.org.uk. What were the other suggestions? Can you offer it a tiny libation of sugar solution to perk it up?

One was a Pearly Underwing. Another was something to do with a dagger iirc.
