A real treat today, saw a water vole close up in this astonishing display of (Southern Marsh?) Orchids.

Only stopped to check the map and take a photo of the finger board, then spotted this little fledgling blue tit, happily flew off (ish- still getting some practice) after a couple of minutes and then full of song. Magical, only encouraged him to move as a bit too in the road with all the speedy tractors atm

I have given over my veg patch to a wildflower meadow to encourage bees. Display is a bit disappointing but the bees like it, particularly bumble bees of various kinds. Photographing them is not easy and this is an initial attempt. Cannot make out which of the many bees it is.

Stoat !!!!!

Yesterday on a descent i had a stoat jump in front of my front wheel, squeak and then run back into the hedgerow in-between both wheels:ohmy::ohmy::ohmy: it all happened in fractions of a second and somehow i avoided to run it over or more like it avoid being run over as it moved like a small mammal on some drugs:laugh:. Went back to check but it was long gone.
