I end up on that road quite a lot although usually going the other way (homeward)

It is nice round there, quiet and some great views. I only recently found that road, currently exploring the area for decent circular routes.
Passed a number of cyclists on Sunday going the other way, do wonder if any were members on here.

Came out of the house this morning to see a Humming Pigeon flapping frantically and trying to hover and hoover up seeds from the bird feeder. Evolution in action.
I've seen a robin doing similar, for some reason they don't perch and peck, although their feet look pretty much similar to a sparrow's.

Spring is here and all the flying stuff is back in town…

I have never had any issues on that road but then not a regular route of mine

I'll be heading down there tomorrow afterwork as it's currently my end of week route. I'm sure it's safe enough and they're just running with me rather than after me.
Saying that, if I get trampled, that would be a cow-tastrophe

If you see them coming you should mooove out of the way.

Blue tits fledged from the nest box this weekend

We've had a nest of Blue or Great tits under the eaves of the outer garage wall (not visible from the garden so I wasn't sure which), there's been lots of twittering for ages, then they started fluttering their wings in readiness, and now it's all gone quiet so I assume they've fledged.
I'm sure they'll appear in the garden sooner or later.
I'm pretty sure the pair of Blackbirds that are constant visitors to the patio feeders must have a nest in the garden somewhere too. This is the female (with a Jackdaw behind).

Yes, keep your eye open as tits feed their young for a couple of weeks after fledging. I would say that, at this time of year, seeing any garden bird in your garden would indicate that there is a nest pretty close by - especially if the male blackbird is singing his requiem to the day at the top of a nearby tree

He most certainly is, every evening!

A 3 or 4 mile walk with the dog into local disused brickpits.
Very nearly sprained.my ankle not concentrating on the ground...same one I did a few months ago but luckily only slight and walked it off.
Probable Marsh Harrier at some distance. Quite possible there is a population maybe 10 miles away in the Fens, definitely not a Red Kite, possibly just a Buzzard but the flying style, flitting up and down, swooping around some of the pits just didn't seem a buzzards normal environment .
Short way on a Reed Bunting on the verges of reeds and pits.
Was kinda hoping to see a snake, we know they're out there but....
Dog launched himself into one pit...he just can't help himself (labrador)
