Old school, I'd agree with Ronnie Barker - quite clearly, a comedy genius.

More up to date though, it has to be a showdown between Rowan Atkinson in the peerless Blackadder and Steve Coogan for the arse-clenching awfulness that is Alan Partridge. Special mention also to Simon Pegg - Spaced is brilliant stuff.

From America-land, Danny DeVito WAS good in "Taxi", as was Chris Lloyd, who played Ignatowski the spaced-out guy.
Also, for "so bad it was good" style stuff, see "We're no Angels" with Robert deNiro and Sean Penn
