All lubes probably have something similar written on the side of the bottle.

I accept that the world probably doesn't need another thread on chain lubes, but let's at least have an intelligent discussion on those that there are.

I think the OP should be banned from posting about this oil until he/she can produce a peer-reviewed paper from a recognised technical institute which demonstrates its effectiveness.
Does it looking like grey snot not guarantee its effectiveness? How disappointing

I use chainsaw oil (1) on my chains,(2) followed by the Mickle method, known in the day as the "Take care of your things, and you will have them forever" method espoused by both parents. Now, if I can figure out what to do with those 1980's sweaters....(3)
1-Chainsaw oil is heavy, like Phil Wood Tenacious Oil, only more available and cheaper.
The lubricants get inside the chain and stay there, mostly among the rollers and sideplates
.
2-Paraffin wax, or Gulfwax, heated indirectly to the consistency of water, as racers did in the 1970's
This is a lot more trouble, and not much more effective, so I do the chainsaw oil instead
.
3- If I were racing a 1970's bike with that period technology, though,
I'd use the paraffin wax, maybe with a bit of graphite thrown in

Then why start by making sneering digs at the OP? Could have just asked nicely in the first place. Might have made a friend that way and the world would be a beautiful place, full of all manner of wonderful things.

If he likes it though and someone picks up the thread, who doesnt like their lube, they might give that one a bash having never even considered that brand. They could also scan various other options, hopefully disregarding my suggestion of lard...they may have also got their first look at the mickle method...which is a lovely, lovely method indeed.

Blimey - what a fragile lot you are. How on earth would you deal with a really difficult question? Anyway, at the risk of offending your delicate sensibilities again, I'll not trouble you any further.

Citius.... You need to get laid! ^_^

Or he could use the lube for something else, perhaps - needs to ease some tension, either way

Mine is this
Recommended to me last autumn by my lbs.
t comes out of the bottle like pearlescent grey snot and really does do what it says in the blurb.
After a winter's riding through all the fifth on the country lanes, I've just mickled my chain and again it's come up gleaming.
I'm certainly going to keep with it.

I've been using this for a while, its excellent.

@betty swollocks is it now silver? my bottles from last year are bronze/light pewter coloured. Hope they havent altered it too much!

Always used to like Finish Line dry lube for the mountain bike. Although a bit on the pricey side, I always rated it. Currently using aerosol 3 in 1 with PTFE on the road bike, which seems to do a very good job and doesn't cost anywhere near as much as some of the (apparently) specialist bike lubes.

I don't have a favorite. But simply stating that something is your favorite and then seemingly avoiding (and the OP does seem to be being deliberately obtuse on this matter) all questions as to why it might be his favorite, does seem strange - and slightly at odds with the idea of a forum, where the objective is to enable people to make informed choices, rather than relying on blind faith, no?

Perhaps it would be easier if I didn't ask any more questions on this - they're obviously too difficult to answer

I said it does what it says it does and after a winter's commuting through the filth of country lanes, the chain with a bit of mickling, still comes up clean.
It is not unreasonable to expect readers to infer that it's my favourite above other lubes because it does this, when others do not.
I was not being obtuse and certainly was not being deliberately so.
