Pretty windy today, went to Cycle Heaven to get some spacers for my winter bike and some new cleats for my shoes, I'm surprised how long these lasted my last cleats lasted like half as long! So it was 25 miles, would have done more but I've got a club run tomorrow to filey (hopefully as long as it is not chucking it down, not bothered about wet roads, just rain on me), I had a HRM on and kept under 180 and I'm surprised how much fresher I felt when I got home!

So 25miles @ 19.6mph average.

Went to Glentress this afternoon. Overall a good day although I went over the handlebars at the burn on Pennel's Vennel. Managed to break a spoke too; not sure if it was at the same time. The rain stayed off until about 10minutes before the end.

Not today but last 4 days. LEL, 1400km. Fecked my right ankle/achilles and had to ride the last day (400km ish) pretty much one footed. Mucho mucho respect to Simon on the Moulton who rode with me on that last day. Without him, I might well have packed but we talked each other through it all.

I cant imagine doing 400km, I dont understand it, my max possible at the moment is about 300km in a day and no way in hell I'd be able to do another 300km untill a good couple days after. Is it my age (20) and do you do it slowly too?

Today was a trip to the seaside, known as filey, it was a tailwind all the way there mostly, abit of crosswind, 30mph on the flat at some points, got 19.7 avg on the speedo when I got there, fastets club ride yet, it was chucking it down in york but we overtook the rain and it was dry in filey, we rode along the sea front and then set off back to york, was some pretty tough hills in the wolds I was loosing power about 80 miles in.

All in all good but tiring ride, 123 miles at 18.9mph average, around 5000ft of climbing, I'm lacking somme nutrients on the ride I think as I'm feeling ill and sick after the ride.

A windy 65miles 45 of it with a mate. After about 12miles he said my bars looked odd and then I noticed they were loose and had rotated down  fixed that and on we went an unlucky 13 miles later I found my self struggling on a hill; I thought surely its not that steep and the headwind not that strong; no when I'd rotated the bars I'd pulled the brake cable slightly and the brakes were on

rode to hebden bridge on my new brommie. got home realized computer batteries flat so went to halfords for new ones. 45 miles all together. 12 mph average not bad considering it's standard and i had to do a 3 mile 10% twice (once home then back home from halfords.) and considering i'm fat and reasonably unfit.

I'll just add my congrats to Yello's ride, another outstanding effort.

By contrast me and the dog rode a few miles to the caff for breakfast.

Did a really frustrating 60 kilometres in a bitter wind that made it feel more like January than August. In fact, I did the same route (Cliviger/Kebs/Jack Bridge/Hebden Bridge etc) in January this year and felt the wind today was just as bad as it was then. I got home to discover I'd done both rides in almost exactly the same time and I'm sure most of us are fitter in summer than winter aren't we? This showed just how bloody wintery today's wind was. Is there going to be not let up in it this year?

A mate was riding down to Cambridge from Leicester (?60miles) on his brand new Planet X so I tagged along for the first 20 or so, stopped for a coffee then headed home - very civilised.

A fantastic 55km as my first ever Fixed outing - and I'm now a convert. Out through Great Missenden to Aylesbury and then back. Great fun. Bright sun and roads thick with cyclists - think there must have been an organised ride in the area this morning. Pics of the new bike on the Photo Gallery board.
