Club ride... 70 miles on the Moulton:smile: Malvern-Tewksbury-Winchcomb-up on to the Cotswolds [seriously nasty climb] Broadway via the swoop down Snowshill... Roberto's for tea and food... back via many lanes.
Lots of cyclists out today:smile:

Highlight was going past some guys on very posh bikes, us; 2 old blokes and me on a 1964 Standard rust bucket:biggrin: they tried to keep up but failed,,, was it you?:tongue::laugh:

Nice Photos longers and trustysteed

It was pretty miserable here today  but I was resting so it wasn't so bad as I wasn't really doing much. I just done the 18.8miles to my parents then sister's then parents again for tea (at a leisurely 16.5mph on the sirrus). I decided to up it on the way back and averaged 18mph for the 16miles.

Just a shorty for me today 32 miles, not very scenic. Didnt feel like going at all, new addition to the family had us awake several times through the night. But saying as we dont get too many nice days it was a shame to waste it!

Was drafted for a while by a guy in Saeco team kit on a rather nice Bianchi, anyone from here. It was along the coast between Whitburn and Sunderland

50 miles of rolling Derbyshire countryside. Might have gone further but it was baking out there and still feel not upto pre-swine flu energy levels. Saw quite a few cyclists out enjoying the sun.

Having a nice little jaunt on my 10 mile loop until RUDE* happened (Rapid Unintended Deflation Experience) I suspect it was my fault for boasting to Gerry Atwick how good my Conti Top Touring had been over the years, the sodding thorn was that big I had to pull it through the tyre in the end.

On a positive it was my last mile & gave me an excuse to swap tyres over from front to back etc BL**** P******* Fairy!

40 miles.
Having to give the bike a good once over now.
I reckon that I had 5 of those 40 on tarmac that actually was smooth and free from potholes, diddy water mains covers (they are the worst), large water main covers, poor overbanding, disintegrating rutted repairs.....
Sometimes it's enough to put you off... unable to concentrate on a decent smooth cadence. efficient pedal stroke when every 20 yards the frame, body and bike, is being pounded by something or other....

A nice 28.95 (GPS pedometer, 31.02 GPS) ride taking in some of the Surrey Hills around Dorking, Ockley, Abinger etc. Left at 3:15 and suddenly it got pretty hot our there, but with a nice breeze for a change. Averaged just a shade under 20, so happy with that.

Went out to Bishops Frome to see a mate and drink a beer at the legendary Green Dragon mmmmmmmmm:biggrin: 28 miles of delightful hilly and quiet lanes in Herefordshire, can't beat it, especially with a tail wind on the way home, and a warm one at that:smile:

Wasn't a great day weather wise and that with hols probably scared a few folk of the club run tonight. Bizarrely at 5:30 ish the sun came out. Knowing the wind was strong and with number low (there was just 3 of us at the start) my group (6pm) went a different route and it was really enjoyable.

Nice, peaceful ride to work this morning - I love the roads that early, with no show-off t**ts around. I love the crisp morning air. Hell, I don't even mind the sleepiness - it always goes away at some point.
Just noticed a ghost bike on Woolwich Road, at the roundabout leading to Blackwall Tunnel. I always thought this bit is not really safe. Looks like I was right. It gets you thinking when you see one of these white-painted bikes. Shame it doesn't get the lorry drivers thinking, too.

Longest ride of the year so far - just over 63 miles, but what a day weatherwise.

A sudden deflation event on Mrs LFG car meant she was delighted to be dropped off at an engagement after being rescued by the fat duffer here. Result! Left her car in Glasgow and went out to Milngavie, Strathblane, Lennoxtown, took a daft turn and cycled for what seemed like forever into the sky, before having a rather horrible decent into Fintry - road surface really bad in and a strong crosswind. Quick pub stop and then on towards Denny, looking for a right turn to return me over the Campsies to Kilsyth. Unfortunately the monsoon rain caused some vision problems and i ended up in Denny. mmm. the sun then came out:biggrin: and i wended my way back to Croy where i had to stop for something to eat as i was shaking a bit:blush:(must remember food next time) After a quick chiken kebab (first eatery i spotted), seemd to climb forever into Airdrie before heading home. Off to remove wet clothes and stuff paper in shoes. eagerly awaitng arrival of Ice cream Van.

Short ride to the doctors, fast there, big headwind on way back, I feel kind of bad on way back, coming up to this corner this old guy indicated right and I wondered what he was doing as there was no right turn, he was in the middle of the road as car was coming behind and I was like wth? I said you going straight on? He came back into the side of the road, so I overtook and went off, only when I was far away had I realised he must have being trying to be kind and let me through that way. Bet he thought I was a right prat.
