33 miles, out to the edge of the Nene Washes, via the cyclepath alongside the river. Bloomin flies ;) millions of em . Lovely quiet route, but thats the downside with riding alongside the water.
Light breeze, nice and mild......

After my 100 last week followed by four days at work and just snacked all the time and got a bit down with it, so to get it out of my system, I went for a fasting ride, and did 56 miles on Sunday in the hills and my legs were killing, and then just had a small dinner late in the evening.

As I was not happy with my time of almost 3 and a half hours, I thought I would do it again today, another fasting ride, I felt fitter and faster and was way up on my timings, untill I got to about the last ten miles, when I began to think I had a puncture, which I had not, began to think my brakes were binding, got off and checked, but deep down I knew I had "hit the wall" and no amount of energy bars or gels got any life into me so I just crawled home with legs like lead. Oddly enough I managed the ride in the same time as Monday.

Highlights of the day, caught something out the corner of my eye run from the kerb and under me followed by a terrific bump and scream from under my wheel, after I got control and my bike became stable again, I turned around to see a great rat staggering across the road.

Then and most odd, my chain came off exactly in the same place as Monday, give or take a few yards.

First commute with the winter bike this morning...and it's wet !!!!
Glad i fixed the two punctures last night...the bike's been sat in the shed since last winter with a flat tyre.
I havnt liked the look of the bike since i built it (Raleigh Clubman)...its too long and low...but bugger, its so smooth

21 miles after work....the prevailing winds changed and i'm finding myself doing a less satisfying route more often. My normal outrun gives me several alternative routes...lately i'm stuck going the other way...with only one real option.
Looking forward to the weekend to get a proper run in.

I had a bit of a frustrating day at work so I took my energy out on the pedals cycled to my parents, 17.3mph  I was surprised how much energy my frustration levels had gave me considering its mostly uphill, 14% at the end. I stopped for homemade soup . I then came back in the dark, it was then I realised that the prevailing wind! had changed since yesterday xx(. 32miles later though despite the headwind as its mostly downhill I'd managed to keep my speed to 17.3mph.

Normal commute but took the steepest route. Came back in light refreshing rain. Pleased with myself as thought of going up the easier route first thing this morning and even contemplated taking the car because of possible heavy rain this afternoon.
