Just short of 50 miles this morning. Dry but very windy:sad: and I hate cycling into a headwind. Good training though and an almost effortless 35mph with the tailwind was great:smile:

Were you with me?

Same mileage, same problem with headwind, same fun with tailwind. My legs are a bit dead now.

an exceedingly gentle 34 miles or so from home to Ingatestone in Essex. Stratford, Ilford, Romford, Brentwood, all looking so sweet under the sun. (And that, my friends, is what love can do to you........)

Bit of a dull ride for me:sad: A rather slow (read exceedingly slow) club ride of 40miles (did a similar distance on my own last week an hour quicker!) - shan't be going out with that particular group again!

Malvern to Goodrich Castle down in the Forest of Dean, nice day, stunning views, nice cafe people, one of my mates back on his bike after a heart problem and steaming up hills again, 75 miles, many many nasty steep hills:biggrin: including one with 4 arrows on it that I got to the top of first.......oh yeh ,,it didn't rain:laugh:
Down side, I have a sore bum and I think it is time to buy some new shorts as these have worn out padding:sad::smile::ohmy:

either that or you must have some dark shades :becool: Stratford Ilford & Romford must have changed a bit since I was there last ;)

A modest 20 miles for me . Still suffering the effects of this blessed UT infection. It was a glorious afternoon and the lanes were quiet. My best bike performed faultlessly and all was right with the world for an hour or so.

I was coming off nights this morning, so managed only 20 miles on way home. Still enjoyed it dispite it being very windy and managed a respectable 18.5mph average.

Sun is out this week hopefully so more to come!

Wow. Some of these distances are unbelievable compared to my measly 13miles/day round trip commute. Do you take food with you, or money to buy something to eat? bottle of water at least, right?

I take 2x 750ml bottles, sometimes I can get through those 2 bottles very quickly, infact other week I went through 2 in 13 miles, sometimes like on Saturday with the cold weather and wet 2x 750ml bottles lasted me the whole 123 miles, I take 3 mars bars with me, 2 cereal bars, aswell as 3 other mars bars in my saddle bag for if I get desperate, but I usually only go through 2 mars bars sometimes not even that, we have a proper cafe stop, I decided to have a large haddock and chips, chips dont go well though I think.

Today saw us cycling around the Fylde village starting at Poulton - DRY yippeee very windy I thought it was going to be 8mph but it was 15 with upto 30mph gusts and head on  Still it was a pleasant wizz round although the route we followed advised a short cut down a bridleway which to be fair was ok for the first half mile then deteriorated that bad we got off and walked the last mile (missed out Kirkham that's all) So another 20 miler (20.88 according to his nibs's gps thingy) One thing that's evident from these last two trips out, I'm going to have to get a new bike (she said gleefully ) BUT what sort??????? a road bike is out of the question pearls before swine so I'll have to have a shuftie around the LBS..... decisions decisions

I'll have a look around the stuff I've seen on virtually are too high a spec for what I want (if I start to go out with a club etc then of course it's another new bike!!!)

We had a good day yesterday it was an experience - see even down in Edinburgh cycles I couldn't seen anything I fancied (cycle wise anyhow )

oh it's 9 pm

Yesterday's First Fixie Outing was pretty flat with just a couple of gentle inclines, so today decided I had to see how I would cope on the hills. Out for a short ride after work (about an hour and a half; no 'puter on the fixie yet, so don't know the distance) with a couple of small climbs - nothing harsh, both climbing around 100m in a bit under a km. Enough to put a burn in the legs. Good though; enjoyed the climbs, less so the descents - legs not designed to spin that fast...
