A nice 100 miler with 8000ft of climbing in East Sussex with a mate.
Did the infamous Ditchling Beacon for the first time, and can honestly say it's not that hard a climb... Beautiful cycling weather, no wind & plenty of sun. A couple of beers (well Bitter Shandy's actually) was enjoyed. The English Channel looked like a millpond. Oh yes I hit 45mph on a downhill, which is a record for me...

133.44 miles 10.8miles to the start of the Edinburgh Sportive (16.8 mph for a 75% solo 110miles 8042ft of climbing; I think that's my longest non stop ride. Unfortunately I took a wrong turning at the end and it fell to 16.7mph for 110.84 miles) and then 11.8 miles home.

Well done, it makes my brisk 25 miler look like a warm up.

Well today should have being a hilly 100+ mile club run, but when I got the Exhibition Square in York I did not feel 100%, my speed there was lower and my heart rate higher, which suggests to me I was not doing so good, could have being the slight breeze, and ever since the Yorkshire Alps last year if I have any doubts what so ever about going on a ride, I decide not to do it, I think I might have being able to do it but took the whimpy option and headed for home on a loop where if I got tired at least I could take a short cut.

I really need to explore more around the area in which I live in, I know my way around Manchester, Cheshire and the Peak District more than here and I've being there less than a year!, I think next week I am going to skip the club run and do a ride down to sheffield, not the best of destinations, just cause I want to go south for once, I also want abit of hills.

Lots of bad drivers on the road, like some overtaking before they are out of the way and skimming you, some youth started to overtake, the road was clear and he had all the road in the world and he still came close past me.... Then to round it off I get home and wasps start to try and eat my bicycle

http://connect.garmin.com/activity/10798440 60 miles, rolling for some of it, 19.9mph average, 3:03:03 , I got home and found I put the key through the letterbox  so had to wait for me parents to come home, so went out did another 15 odd miles.

Twaddle, plenty of good cycling in South Yorkshire. You might want to avoid some of east Barnsley though.

25 miles up and down some hills (2000 feet of up) cooler of late and that about the sum of the 1 hour and a half I had spare over lunch time.

Had cheese on toast with tomato on top and a potty of tea when I got in. Superb.

33 around the country lanes of Fylde - Skippool to Scorton via Nateby and Garstang then back through Winmarleigh - lovely day

Coming into Scorton t'other half got a puncture - no problem until it came to pump up the new inner tube. Pump knackered adaptor had fallen off somewhere - cue little old man (he told us he was 75) with hand pump - HERO! So that's another trip to LBS

So that's me 30 mile done

It's hard planning routes I think, I use google maps and most roads seem to be busy A roads, I'd like to be able to make a long 80mile route from selby near york that is on mostly quiet roads. I'd like to go to the peak district, the bit near sheffield but dont think that's possible from here under 100 miles. I dont have the mental ability to do a 100+ miler on my own.
