they are the best kind of rides arn't they. No agenda no pressure . I like to take my camera on those sort of rides . It gives me an excuse to stop and admire the scenery

Aye, I love the morning when there is no traffic. May go for a similar route tomorrow, or may take a different route altogether, haven't decided yet. May take my camera tomorrow.

done 44 km today... my speed needs to improve a lot ,over 2 hrs. left at 7.30 am. very nice morning here ,i brought my road bike today,first time in a week as weather is so unpredictibale here for last few weeks.

went to see tour of ireland yesterday go over 1st catergory mt leinster,
they were so fast i feel i should give up.

might give that mt a go in a few months when i gain some fitness.

Well I think that was my shortest ride on record (actually its not on record). A 100m or so to the car to check if my bike will fit for tomorrow and then 1/2 a mile (still by bike) to the cash machine. Its lovely weather out there and I'd been tempted to go further but I'm saving my legs for tomorrows ride.

A leisurely 13 miles with the wife on our hybrids. Beautiful and sunny, light breeze, out of town, into the countryside, sat at the side of a field for 15 mins and admired the view...then onwards.
Didnt even break into a sweat...

just over 100 miles today..one puncture ...almost dark when got back...Bianchi flew...I had a strong head wind on the way back in stretches...my legs feel fine but my back aches like buggery

I did my longest ride to date 33.33 miles

Loverly weather, two roads closed to traffic but with space for cycles and pedestrians (it's so funny watching drivers ignore the signs and then turn back), didn't have a definate route planned but meandered across to Knutsford and had lunch in the penny farthing cafe, sat in the conservatory where they keep the bikes.

Just about made it home but I'll need different bars to start going further and maybe shorter cranks. Or a new bike.

Mrs A and I rode one of our favourite local loops of about 25 miles over the lumpy bits around here. Superb weather apart from the blasted wind (again). Lots of other cyclists out and about all of whom waved a cheery greeting. Felt good on arrival at Attrick Towers.

Considering I was feeling sick after 5mile rides a week ago, I feel great after todays ride. Set out on the same 14mile route as yesterday after I had my brekky and a bru, but as I was about to go home at the end of the route I said "I'll do another 10miles so I break the 20mile box", so I went to Whitefield which added another 10miles so in total did a 24mile ride. Feel great now, just had a small protein shake and going to have a tea in a sec.

At one point, this woman saw me cycling past and "hissed" at me, kind of freaked me out.

Was going to get the train to Barrow-in-Furness then cycle home (about 55 miles), but when the train arrived all the bike places were full

So set off without a proper plan, decided to cycle up the Lyth Valley to Windermere, then get the ferry across. Then up to Hawkshead, up the hill and over to Coniston Water, and down the little road on the east side of the lake. Stopping at a tea shop in a farm where you helped yourself to food, made your own brew, then left whatever amount of money you thought covered it! Then minor roads and the B road to Flookburgh, Grange and Levens, and the A road back home.

75 miles - my furthest yet! Sunny all day, and the scenery magnificent as ever (particularly the parts north of the A590).

A really nice 80km run today in the still, clear and not too hot early morning, up along the Arakawa to Saitama, then across the river and through the rice fields, which are just starting to be cut now. On the way back I had my first p*ncture in ages... and because I'd forgotten a spanner (no QR on my SS hubs), I had to a couple of km on my cleats until I got to a local sports club, where the groundsman lent me one. It's our leaving party here today too... we go back to the UK on Wednesday. The bike gets picked up by FedEx on Tuesday and will arrive about the same time that we do in Canada.

45 mile loop from Dunsop Bridge (geographical centre of Britain) down to Chipping then up to Galgate and Glasson Dock for tea and cake, then up the estuary cycleway to Lancaster, dodged a few early Saturday evening drunks and then on to the Trough of Bowland and back. 3 hours of riding and 4122feet of climbing. Legs are nice and tired today! The 900 ft climb from Lancaster up to Jubilee Tower was a killer for tired legs.
