An aborted ride around 4 or 5 miles.
Nice and sunny, asked the 4yo grand daughter if she wanted to come for a ride, see some rabbits etc.
Before we left...do you need a wee ?...no.

Set off, soon into countryside, enjoying the butterflies and birds and the deer...

It turned out to be nearly 7 miles yesterday.

Today, more or less the same ride, gd on the back, did the route I set out to do yesterday, tracks and paths through old brickpits and a nice quiet stretch of road up to Normans Cross, site of a Napoleonic POW camp where there were 5 Sikhs (I assume) stood looking across the vista, very ceremonial deep purple clothing and turbans, ceremonial daggers quite resplendent. No idea what they were doing, but they looked quite astonishing.

Caught the sun today..11 miles cycled.

22 miles around the town today.. Certainly a warm one!

Amongst dropping a few bits into the charity shop & a dog toy into a mate's place, I had a camping stove & 8 gaz cylinders for it to transport.. Luckily, I had the rack on the bike. Unluckily, ine of my two bungees snappedvto the load was a bit wobbly!! I kept an eye out for some baling twine (there's always some around but not todat! 😂) I did find 3' of electric cable si utilised that for the last 6 miles home..

Cooling off in the garden, now, with a cuppa ☕

Interesting to see how the defensive wall was built in layers.....

Was watching Digging for Britain last night, and that prompted me to see the old Roman town again - very nice pootle.

I'm not quite sure what happened on Tuesday. Was it because I had an allergic reaction to a canteen wrap, then did a strong ride on a empty stomach or just a few sips out of a dodgy bottle. I finished the ride feeling OK, then ate. A few hours later I suddenly felt sh1te. I'll spare you the details but I managed to lose 2.4kg of my smaller frame overnight, which dehydrated me and was in a mess all week stomach wise so haven't ridden. I decided to prep for today's ride anyway with the intention to bail if it got bad again. Thankfully it didn't really (a bit of an uncomfortable stomach but no blow out from it) which was a good job as I ended up on the front of the group for the vast majority of the ride.

19mph for the 30miles to the cafe. The majority went the direct route home after the cafe but me and 2 others took a longer route to a pub beer garden. I was a bit tentative but I'm glad I did 🌞

Unsurprisingly there seem to be some cracking rides on here recently :becool:

Having retrieved the Routier on Wednesday night from its sub-opimal two-year slumber at a mate's place, it was pressed into service only hours later - leaving the house at half four to get me into town for the May Day morning celebrations with some mates. I left in the dark and rode through the dawn; startling a diverse selection of wildlife in the process..

Bike lashed to some railings amidst a sea of others the choir atop the tower was observed with appropriate reverence on an appropriately lovely morning

Thankfully the bike was still there some ten hours later after I'd finished not getting wasted. First potentially big drinking outing since sacking it off and once told by a mate I couldn't have a Guinness for breakfast events were surprisingly paletable in the absence of alcohol

Earlier today I enjoyed all of 1.5 miles to the chippy and back on the Raleigh; the rack and integral bungee proving invaluable for preventing the ride home from knackering my fish:

After dinner I "nipped" to Waitrose to trawl for bargains on the Fuji; then across Port Meadow to Wolvercote and back in along the tow path via the monkey bars for a really rewarding dangle.

Finally it was home as dusk descended over the crystal clear sky
