Lovely day! The strong winds finally dropped of the last few days and I got out for a loop in Bowland. The easterly route took me to Wray and then the long climb to Cross ‘o’ Greet pausing only to admire the view of the three peaks and to allow the riders of Blackpool Clarion to pass. They seemed in more of a hurry than me. Fantastic ride down the Upper Hodder and lunch with the bikers and cyclists in Slaidburn. I headed west through the Dunsop Bridge, the self proclaimed centre of the UK, then the steep climb of the trough. It is more of a challenge east to west than the other way around. There were lots of people out enjoying these minor roads today so I needed my whits about me on the descent. The final big climb of the day was Jubilee Tower where I was rewarded with some good views of the coast. 86 km with 1345 m of climbing.
