Fantastic ride of the Welsh Apocalypse on the tandem today.

First to World's End (geddit?) and the lonely road over the moors

Then winding through the lanes to the bottom of the Horshoe Pass

And up and over, though neither shoes nor Horsemen were seen

To Llanbedyr Dyffryn Clwyd for lunch at the excellent Griffin, then some more steep lanes home.

51 excellent miles in autumnal sunshine with 1500m joyful(!) climbing.

Superb afternoon ride around part of Brittany

A charity ride today for me today. Shortly after the start though the rain came on heavy and was persistent for about 50miles. All the riders that were doing the long route were sticking together when it was dry but getting cold wasn't really an option when it got wet and 4 of us broke away. My hand nerves can get a bit too cold to function. A mate and me doing most of the work on the front and a 3rd rider coming through every so often. After about 25miles of rain the 4th rider decided to take shelter in a cafe. Given he was just sat at the back I never noticed. If I noticed I probably would have joined him! Eventually it stopped raining and for the last circa 30 miles we had warm sunshine 🌞 It was a good route and my Varia actually lasted for it (circa 5 and 1/4 h) without giving me a warning, it usually gives me a warning after circa 3h. That might mean it was a pretty traffic free route.
