I’m telling my Boss I’m starting early and finishing early today……so that meant a 3.30am dog walk. Followed by a 4.40am start to my cycle commute - to then arrive at work for 5.30am. Considering that - I feel ok 😁

Weather forecast isn’t wonderful here today and we may see a few showers mid-morning. However I missed the possible early ones and had a dry ride in. And even caught some sporadic ‘sun-rise’ between some reasonably dark-grey cloud.

Uneventful 🙏 ride otherwise - with the Carrera Subway One churning out the miles pain-free as it normally does. And the Fenwicks chain lube doing a wonderful job (I REALLY rate that stuff) of quietening the drive train to near silence - and letting me focus on my one (Sound projecting) ear-bud and the sounds of Mother Nature…….

One of mine too (in both directions), although I obviously start and finish in Todmorden.

I often head down the A58 towards Ripponden, and then turn left onto Blue Ball Road just before Baitings Reservoir. You probably already know the lovely lumpy lanes** in that triangular area between Blackstone Edge, Sowerby Bridge, and Mytholmroyd, but if you don't then I recommend checking them out!

You have almost motivated me to do at least one summer sunrise weekend ride. I could get to the Forest of Bowland before the roads got busy, whiz around out there and be back around lunchtime.
