I do hope this Chesty Cough isn’t a sign of my weekend to come 🤧☹️

Beautiful Morning to be out on 2 wheels though. Friend of mine mentioned using arm-warmers on early rides now ? Not here ! 🌅😁

Gorgeous Sunrise this am ❤️

A bit of exploring today which found me at the McLaren Technology Centre, then a decent length of the Basingstoke Canal before picking up the Pirbright Military Heritage trail and finding a way home via Bagshot. Rather a nice pedal with not a great deal on roads which is nice. And my first 50km ride since getting back in the bike, they used to be easy!

The ride did not go as planned,i only got 15 miles in,and never got near Otley.I was huffing and puffing and had nothing in the legs,so i asked my mate to pack in at Golden Acre Park.We had a latte there then came back via Otley Road and a fantastic woodland path that brought us through to King Lane Alwoodley, that was great because there was a fabulous cafe called York Gate just down from Adel Church,a place we can take the f i l to,anyway a nice tootle back before dinner at my favourite local cafe, and a good natter with my cycling pal, about looking after myself and stopping volunteering for things, which is a great idea, that was mentioned on here a few weeks ago.All in all not getting to Otley turned out better than i thought.

I had to nip over to Hebden Bridge at 19:00 this evening. It was pretty cool by then - a minimum temperature of 11 C, and wind chill made it feel less than that. I wore a long-sleeved base layer, a long-sleeved jersey and a gilet, and I didn't exactly overheat!

A slightly sub-12 mile out-and-back to the bars this morning for a bit of a hang.

The main goal however was the distance itself because, thanks to last Saturday's significant 62-miler and five consecutive days of reasonable rides since, last night I found myself on 188.82 miles for the rolling week.

This put me a whole 0.01 miles over my previous 7-day rolling max (scored in the halcyon days of Covid) however more importantly with no ride last Friday the 200 mile goal was there for the taking with a mere 11.18 miles to cover today.

I'm still down on the rolling month / year values this summer, and while the 188-odd miles covered over seven days during Covid was probably faster / more exerting, I'm still very happy to have tagged that elusive 200 miles this time :becool:
