Another tip, if you're watching YouTube on your tv with Google TV.
When an ad starts use your remote and press home button followed quickly by the YouTube button (if you have one) to return to YouTube and the stream continues where you left it but without the ad.

Might not work for much longer though as I was reading yesterday that YouTube are now starting embedding the ads in the video file rather than sending them as a separate file to be added in at the device.

On my phone or iPad, if I close the video and reopen it, the advert vanishes and the content plays normally. Sometimes I have to do it twice but that’s better than sitting through 60 seconds of guff.

and something has been shouted

but I have zero clues what they said - or whether it was to me or not
