45.59 for me on stage 4. Pretty happy with that - resigned to the fact that I can't live with @<Tommy> at the moment! Only regret is the group I ended up in after the first climb was one of those where no one wanted to ever go in the front so everyone was soft pedaling a lot. I tried to set a good example by pushing on a couple of times - even used an aero power up on the front - and everyone followed me of course but still no one wanted to ride. Can't blame people really - trying to recover before the second climb - but slightly frustrating!

Least horrible stage so far - probably because I had a couple of days rest before doing it, and it was the shortest so far!

Have you done this stage yet @berty bassett ? I think this one is right up your street!

Iā€™ve been quietly accumulating some new parts over the last few months. My plan is to try and make one of my bikes as light a possible for next summer while trying not to compromise ride quality too much. Itā€™s more of a hobby project rather than me expecting it to make much difference to my overall times or whatever. I think this computer mount is the last piece of the puzzle. I say ā€˜thinkā€™ because I could potentially get lighter pedals, but Iā€™m not sure if I want to make the functionality sacrifice. The mount is designed specifically for the THM stem in the photo. The stemā€™s face plate bolts are situated at an odd angle which had made it hard to find a computer mount that can be bolted on in the conventional way. The computer mount is a pretty insane 9grams! With added 2 grams for the wahoo cradle and fixing screws.

All the new components combined aren't going to add up to more than a few hundred grams all in I donā€™t think. And it is a bit mental I guess but it keeps me entertained... The frame itself isnā€™t really a lightweight frame but I bought it for comfort first. So if I can get the whole build down to low 6kg numbers Iā€™ll be happy enough.
Iā€™m going to take note of weights and take photos of all the new parts and then compare to the old ones theyā€™ll be replacing.
So on the off chance that you arenā€™t falling asleep already, and would like to see some more pics as I rebuild it. I thought Iā€™d just try to garner interest.

Let me know if youā€™d rather I kept my carbon addiction to myself or youā€™d like to see more šŸ˜„
I'm very interested Tommy (probably too tight to do the same though!) so please keep the updates coming!

What have you gone for saddle-wise? I am tempted to replace mine for a lighter one and put the one I currently have on the turbo bike but I'm struggling to find the perfect mix of lightweight/hopefully comfortable/not stupidly expensive! This may be because nithing actually ticks all three of these boxes!

In the spirit of full disclosure the complete opposite happened to me. I was a bit of a wreck after the first hill and only in a group of 4 or 5. But luckily there was a bloke in my group who kept us all ticking over until we got swallowed by a larger group who dragged me round to the start of the second climb.

Definitely one for @berty bassett with all that 13 percent nonsense! ā€˜unfortunatelyā€™ heā€™s away skiing šŸ˜„

Even though I've half blitzed my self today with nothing to show for it, I might attempt the 2pm one & see what happens.

I have a Berk lupina saddle on two different bikes. They do probably fall into the realm of stupidly expensive ti be fair... but they are 100g Ish and really very comfy for me. what saddle do you have at the moment as is it comfortable I guess more importantly. You can lose lots of weight quite easily if you go from metal to carbon rails. And if you get a carbon shell it can also add more comfort as they tend to have a bit of flex in them. Iā€™ve found that the level of padding is almost irrelevant compared to the shape and width of the saddle. So Iā€™d suggest if youā€™re happy with the saddle you have try and find a lighter variation of the same saddle shape. For what itā€™s worth the Berk lupina is most similar to the specialised romin in terms of shape.

I am feeling virtuous having sought redemption (from a heavy hangover) in a 100km ride this morning. I suspect the lingering alcohol in my system may have made it easier suggesting all that stuff about drinking and eating properly is just bol***šŸ˜
My new light weight wheels arrived and I have no hesitation in showing them here. Wish me well setting tubeless in a few days šŸ˜¬

45:22 for me please. Wasn't the most fresh start ever after already doing half in the morning then win10 crashing Zwift out. On the downhill I became isolated & for much of the flat afterwards. I was expecting 44:00 but at least I got an Xert breakthrough with a new MAP score.

Lightweight, comfy, reasonably priced - pick two?!
