Make him a ridiculously low offer to take it off his hands once he realises he can't use it there

The Neo gossip is that Tacx are beta testing at the moment a software upgrade that will give a left & right pedal measurement, I would have no idea how or what the accuracy would be but I’m certainly looking forward to it as my left leg has never recovered from a bad mtb accident I had where I broke my femur at the hip socket.

It should be as accurate as the power readings I'd guess.

Might be a silly question but does it make a difference if one leg is more dominant than the other? My power meter always tells me I'm 52%/48% in favour of my left leg.

Will be stuck at work tonight. Hate work at the moment
Makes two of us, finding my self looking at jobs, thought I found one but the money was a little low.

Two sided power meters can do this too. The cool thing about wattbike is being able to see the data with graphics as you peddle. Any idea what the left peak / right peak thing means?
I would guess that it's the peak force exerted on each side, and the point in the circle where that peak force is applied. As for balance that much is obvious, in the theoretical world they should be equal, and people will tell you to work on the weaker side to bring it up to snuff with the other side. In the real world a 1-2% difference at our level will not matter that much. If you were an elite athlete it might.

Can't wait for my daughter to be on her feet financially as once that happens a pair of Garmin 3's will be on my way  It will be interesting to see what my two historical motorbike injuries have done to my circle of power (Frac kneecap, Pelvis in two places and 3 lumbar vertebrae). It will be less interesting, and more humbling, to discover that the BKool really is seriously over reporting watts (I reckon by about 25-30%, based on the real rides I've recorded and ridden again)

See, I knew you would enjoy it once you had a few races :okay:
Shhhh, don't tell anyone

Now I've done a few races I am getting into it. Not for the all out power and speed, but for the tactics and dynamics within the group you end up riding with. Trying to assess who looks strong, who might drop off, or who is just playing with you. Definitely not about the winning of the whole race, the watts or the time, it's just the challenge of trying to beat the group you end up with. :okay:

I've been slack on the admin for the Strava Cyclechat turbo club, so there are a few member requests.

Anyone on here willing to join the dots on up on these requests?

Ta
Jamie Henderson races on the Bkool leagues.

Paul T used to race on BKool but I guess may be on Zwift now

Ale Man has definitely been on Cyclechat recently talking to us.

The rest may have seen us racing/riding on either BKool SC or Zwift. Don't recognise any names though.

Ah that makes sense Aleman :okay:

With regards the left right balance thing it's a bit of a funny one for me. To balance it out are you supposed to try and push harder with the leg that's letting the side down? If I'm at full tilt I'm going as hard as I can so.... but maybe it's more an issue of technique rather than outright power. I know Andy did sessions based around smoothness of pedal stroke on trainerroad last year so maybe he knows a bit more about it.

Maybe it doesn't matter in itself if one leg is working harder than the other but it may show there's an underlying flaw with the smoothness of your pedal stroke.

I have almost a 10% imbalance coz of my... well apparently bridgly won’t let me mention why:rolleyes:^_^
But I have no idea if that is significant within normal perameters. I did try one legged spinning and it was difficult and felt very strange. I would say that in my experience good form and so consistent power output from both legs makes a significant difference to my power input, a good 15-20w but while I can do it in a workout scenario it goes to pot in a race:laugh:
