I’d be interested to see everyones Strava times up the hill. I know personally I put out 330w average which is good number for me, and lee still put a minute into me at least I think. I think maybe I could of gone harder on the lower gradient sections if I’d had more experience on the course but that only a claws few seconds back normally.

I don’t know… this stuff can be very marginal can’t it? I don’t mean the margin between myself and lee but moreover across the whole field really.

23.05 and 302 watt average

Nearly 5 mins and 60 watts better than pb (3 years ago now!) So not patronising at all @<Tommy> cheers!

Using all the gearing properly was a game changer too. I think I would have definitely dropped back if I was on the old set up

I think I did say, they'll be no catching Berty if he has a small lead.

What is Lee 10kg lighter than you and only ceded 4 secs.
You did indeed and you were right - but in the past I have also taken significant time off him on the descent and flat run in to the finish on that course. I suppose it depends on circumstances though - I still think if the gap was within a minute and there was 1 or more other motivated riders working with me, we may have been able to reel him in. But today he was just too quick on the climb, and he also kept up really high power in those final kilometres and increased his gap on me (don't know about the gap to Tommy?)

Despite the fact I can do slightly higher watts, Lee's w/kg is way higher than I can do - I fear he may be too strong even on a flattish TT course but we'll see next week!

Here’s the times for those registered with the club on strava. It’s not all about the watts. I’m just big boned.

277w, which is probably a fair reflection of the amount of work I need to do to get my fitness and form back🤔. I wasn’t really mentally in the zone to suffer tonight… I raced really passively because I was scared of going too far into the red and getting dropped. What’s more, I’d not listened to any Enya all day, and, even worse, I had an Atomic Kitten earworm in my head!

I did 21:43 @ 309 watts average - only my 4th best time on the Neo but my highest average watts so I'm happy with that.

Your 330 watts is really impressive - I don't know what Lee's power was but I can remember every time I looked during the race he seemed to be well over 5w/kg!

@Whorty you are definitely strong enough to do more than make up the numbers in b :training:
I think Carl could with careful selection of courses be very handy in B cat. He's got an excellent climbing ability being quite light, so hills would suit him.

I remember I could place mid B on flat courses at my best but was back of the pack on anything hilly. I understand being at the pointy end of a Cat is rather nice getting little trophies. It takes a fair bit of graft to progress and do well in the next category.

Its all to do with enthusiasm

Not sure how Joffey was six seconds faster than me on the climb - as far as I could tell we started at the same time and we certainly finished together as well. But it is interesting to see that apart from the top 4, the watts for everyone else were pretty close, meaning most of our performance differences basically come down to weight.

Not wanting to take away from the post race banter but I just saw the ZRL stages announced earlier today. Some 8nteresting courses. A TTT on Richmond reverse should be interesting.

Ooooh, that's interesting. I was very tempted to ask for Neokyo All-Nighter as our course for next week anyway, but now it's down as the first week for ZRL, that I think becomes a great opportunity to do a recce at the same time.

How about it @bridgy? 90% of the course is flat with a single climb of about 3-4 minutes length and if we set a custom length of about 30-35km (trying to keep it a similar length to all the other stages), it should come in at about 40-50 minutes for most of the field.

Yeah I'd be very happy with that

Yeah just to be clear Carl, not trying to call you out on it, you are still C on zwiftpower and heavens knows there are plenty of people near A power in c (and D!). Just if you were to try it I think you'd do better than you might think
