Finished last on the road, but also 16th out of 18. Presume two riders suffered trainer/internet drop-outs along the way. But I'm still counting them as scalps!

Oh, and whatever WADA says about pseudoephedrine being a performance enhancer, it's clearly bollocks! Didn't help me one bit (apart from to relieve my nasal congestion obviously).

I had great fun, a real ding-dong battle with @straas , @BurningLegs , @Peter Salt and @IrishAl . Thanks, fellas!

Cheers for the company!

Missed that first move, managed to get back but had burnt my one and only match and immediately fell off again .

Just throwing it out there - what about a handicap race at some point? For every minute you have on the last rider you add 1kg to your profile??

Really enjoyed that racing with John, Alex and latter part Al.

Until Alex dropped a rocket and shot off creating a 30sec lead in no time.

You were killing me at the start of every long climb, but I still had my course map from TdZ, so knew I had time to make up the ground. You dropped at least three feathers when I kept getting 10 XP as well . About halfway round I decided the way to play it would be to drop a feather and sprint up the final 0.5km climb. So when I eventually got one, I kept it for then. Have to say it worked quite well :okay:

I thought you were struggling, dropping back on most of the climbs :okay:
You attacked the climbs at the beginning quite hard - a bit too hard for me to sustain, but they were long enough to get back to you on.

I knew if I was going to get away from you and stay away I had to stand up and give it all I had on that last climb (400W and 195 BPM, apparently )

I was one of them! Turns out my earlier headache was in fact a brain tumour and I did well to complete my warm up. At least now I'd out of the cup I can concentrate on the league or something

Amazingly I got an FTP increase  It's a funny old game.

Likewise, likewise.

Sincere apologies to @Joffey - felt like the group wanted to wait for you but I kept up the pressure as I'm no match for your sprint. Was looking forward to a vendetta but then you dropped out?

@IrishAl, what happened at the end?

@alex_cycles - unlucky drop at the very start. Looks like that target on your back got smashed after all ;)

@BurningLegs - brilliant ride to the very sprint finish. Tried dropping him 3-4 times but bastard always came back

Just a proof that no one can push me like you lot:

Congrats @berty bassett for taking 1st and @bridgy, @<Tommy> for (somewhat) keeping up with him :notworthy:

Don't know if there was any luck involved. I think I was caught napping and got spat out pretty quickly. I need to pretend it's one of my Laguardia starts and worry about going into the red later

Made up a nice group of three with @CXRAndy and @Johnsop99 for most of the rest of the race and then @IrishAl joined us with a few clicks left to go. :okay:

I've no ready made excuses for tonight so I'll not even try. I enjoyed that despite getting dropped from multiple mini-groups along the way.

The elastic well and truly snapped trying to get back across to the lead group near the start and then again just after @Peter Salt and @BurningLegs made it back to @Legs and @straas.

Enjoyed the tussle with @CXRAndy and @Johnsop99 towards the end but @alex_cycles bkew us away with 1k to go.

I bailed 🥴 completely fked from the start, not sure why could be the caffeinated coffee at work the customer kept making me (I normally drink decaf) hence heart rate spike at the start and never recovered from it.
Well I'm glad you stuck around for the first bit, cause it gave me someone to chase! Didn't see another rider for the whole race (apart from the leaders coming the other way).
