And a silver medal for the trophy cabinet. :okay:

Best way to start the day, although maybe doing one yesterday afternoon as well didn't help my cause  Couldn't hold the pack for long this morning.

My power was down and what I expected for such a short event. I just pedalled easy to warm up. I think next time! I will warm up fully

I usually do about 10km at 30 kmh on Tempus Fugit with a couple of short sprinty bits near the end to wake up the legs. (I was 15W down on yesterday, but still managed to beat two As ^_^)

Be fun to do a crit race too ... Something for everyone .... sprinters will be smelling glory at the end, but only if the climbers don't drop us on the little climb each lap and take away our sprints. One of those courses that could see a fairly decent sized group at the finish and anyone's guess who will take the win.

As long as it's nice and short. Everyone round here seems overly keen on 30km races, when it's clear to see that the most fun you can possibly have is when you do the whole race at VO2max

I tend to warm up using the C pace rider ... you can stay in the group at 2.4 w/kg so for me 15-20 mins gives me a good warm up without losing any power. And for the odd sprint, just drop off the back and sprint back on. The C pack moves at about 40 kph, so little chance of getting dropped completely.

I use the same C pace rider for Z2 longer rides too as it keeps me in the right zone without having to think too much.

I love the crit races, problem is when I ride (6 ish at night, or weekend afternoons) there never seem to be any crit's in the event diary.

I think that's what they're trying to achieve with clubs. Allow people to put on their own races and publicise them. There is an "anyone with link can join" feature so people don't have to be members of a club to race in a club's race. Just need a way to get some riders involved. Racing on your own gets boring quickly - all those golds

Bank all these ideas for the next Tour De Splitters when the ZRL finishes :okay:

Oh, I wouldn't race on my own ... I'd invite you C and D riders to join me

Yes, the club feature (or at least the ability to organise our own races) has been requested for years. I contacted Zwift back when we split (hence the name  ) from Bkool 5 years ago ... I certainly wasn't the only person to request this functionality and it's taken Zwift 5 years to implement it. But, it does seem finally that clubs are getting what they need, the ability to set up their own races with proper results rather than having to use Strava segments or screen shots of passing the randomly placed finish line as per Meetup.

We used to have some pretty good leagues in Bkool (albeit i was always last!), so be nice to get something similar going again here as we have some good numbers at the moment in CC and we may event tempt others back to race again.

I've paused my Zwift membership so won't have access past the end of May.

Going to take a free trial of Wahoo X and see how I find it. Perhaps a stage or two of Tour de Splitters could be over there? Maybe @berty bassett could help organise or find a suitable event???
