November is always a tricky month for me. It's the end of the hill climbing season, the winter months are stretching out in front of me, it's difficult to motivate myself not to overeat because there's nothing worth training for in the near future. I'd like to get some more running done, but it's too dark in the mornings and invariably wet and muddy in the lanes.

I started to get into running about 35 years ago. The first few weeks half killed me but eventually I built up enough fitness to start enjoying it.

That enjoyment was brought to a sudden stop one dark autumn evening though when I sprinted round a bend on an unlit lane and planted one foot on the edge of a huge unseen pothole. I fell heavily. I had twisted the ankle so badly that my entire foot and leg up to my shin went purple, black and blue by the next day. I had discomfort in that ankle for several years after that and never got back into running.

Recently, I have been considering trying low impact slow 'shuffle running' in the local park. There is a 1 km path round the park itself, and a great network of paths up the wooded hillside immediately adjacent to the back of the park.

Are you B riders squads looking for another member?

The young lad I mentioned a week or so has become available.

Hes a heavyweight with 350W for 30 mins.

PM me on how he can join your team.

Ta Andy

Suspect he might be above b development level but If not could ask for our team. Certainly sounds like an asset

Stage 5 Unlocked

Beware it's almost the same course as stage 4.

Faired a little better on the bridge climb, still got dropped off the lead, didn't die as badly.

Couldn't muster a sprint really for the finish ZRS upped to 280

ZP 7th finish first of the oldies

Did you get a reply Michael from ZRL mothership?

Not conclusively. There's room on the roster but I have asked them if he meets the power threshold. Conscious they are in America so time difference might mean they are asleep. I'll ask on the discord this evening in any case but hopefully have a reply before then

Completed my upgrades on the SL8 this morning. At the moment I'm lacking the motivation to hurt myself much in the mornings, so I've been doing Z1/Z2 with Coco for the majority of my morning rides, and will probably continue to do so until Christmas. What is the best bike to do distance-based upgrades on next? (I'll switch to the Cadex TT bike for when I do workouts.)

His W/kg put him around 3.8 for 30 mins. Is that too high for B squad?

Sorry I'm late to this Andy (been travelling with work) - he'll be fine for a standard Cat B team, but his Zftp is too high for our Development B team unfortunately.

ZRL just uses the pace group category on your Zwiftpower profile so anyone who's Cat B on ZP can ride in an Open Cat B team (the "Development" categories are for those in the lower half of each category which for Cat B is up to 3.74w/kg zFTP and 4.53w/kg zMAP)
