Oh right - a bit closer to me then! (Not that I'm in any way tempted to do anything other than potentially spectate!)

I thought about having a bash this year - but my motivation dip came at the wrong time. May well have a go next year if the dates align.

Just looked at the results - based on people I know who completed it, I'd have been about 250th ^_^

Something to remember though.

The closest I have ever come to that spectator cheering was riding up Michaelgate in Lincoln at the end of the Grandprix, crowds cheering the finishers up the cobbled climb.

I stayed in the left gutter as people were falling off on the cobbles

I've got to put in another two and a half hours on the TT bike this weekend if I want to get stage 1 before the TTT. And as I'm only around for the first TTT this round, if I don't do it now, it'll be a bit of a waste of all the time I spent midweek foregoing all the draft opportunities in the New York extension.

I think I'm about 3 hours from stage 4 upgrade on the TT bike which I'll try to get to before the ZRL first round. Bit frustrating though that the stage 4 upgrade doesn't really do much - it's just a stepping stone really to the big stage 5 upgrade!

I've done that event as well . It would be embarrassing to get off and have to walk when being watched so you have to get up it . I glad it's was dry when I did it as I climb out of the saddle not sure I would have got up in the wet

It's been a very long time since I had to get off and walk on a climb - been close a few times though ^_^

I have about a 50-50 record on one of my local climbs - Mytholm Steeps. This evil one...

I did it years ago in the rain on the Pain in the Pennines sportive. I stood up on the 25% ramp and my rear wheel immediately slid out from under me! I did an emergency dismount, just managing to unclip one foot in time. Unfortunately, I had Look cleats on my shoes which gave about as much grip as my tyres in the wet so my foot also then slid out!!! I came very close to faceplanting on the road...

After that near miss I switched all of my bikes over to MTB-style SPD pedals!

Anyone done the 6 week FTP Builder plan on Zwift?

Wendy is on week 2 of it and wondered how others had found it.

You should try the Dragon 🐉

Its was either the elbow or arse that did for many. I was lucky enough to drag my bulk up and over these nasty climbs.

Alas on the last drag of the day my legs gave way, walk of shame upto Adam waiting at the top

Devils elbow . I was advised when you approach don't look left as you can see where the climbs goes and it sycs you out . Off course I looked left but grovelled up it

Yes I've done it Martin, struggled to get the final few sessions.

Did improve my fitness, as good as any other trainer specific program now.

I used to run Trainer Road before Zwift got their programs setup, not really worth it it, to me anyway

Yikes - I really jinxed myself there...

I nipped out on my bike this afternoon and got a notification on my phone that a parcel was waiting for me in the Amazon locker at Todmorden railway station. I headed for the station and, as usual, turned up Rise Lane to get to it. The road is around 100 m long, one-way, and the gradient averages at least 10%. I always stand and hit the climb hard, trying to average 500+ W to the top. It nearly went very pear-shaped today when I sprinted up over a pile of damp leaves and my rear wheel immediately slid out from under me.

The back of the bike fishtailed violently and came scarily close to dumping me off onto the tarmac!

I think I might keep hard efforts like that for the turbo trainer until the spring...
