I doubt Hodges will be able to help. I think ZP merely pull the events from Zwift. I would assume you need to ask for an event with zwift HQ. I've also not known an invitation only event if you want to restrict entry. You could arrange a meet-up on a different course using a hack so you race around Richmond for example amongst yourselves.

That is what we do do for zsun training rides-just arrange a meet up.

I agree with you Andy, but I would go a bit further and say it really doesn't matter to me at all whatever is going on with other riders and whether they are cheating or not, as long as I enjoy the race and get a good workout.

There's literally nothing at stake except my own fitness. If one of the riders I'm racing against online is doing something to boost their performance and is in reality a much slower rider....so what?! If he gives me a good race within the game, that's fine with me. And if he wants to kid himself that he's a better rider than he is in reality, again good luck to him - I couldn't care less! I'm either never going to meet them anyway, or if I did meet them IRL and they were shown to be way slower than their online racing suggests, that's their problem not mine! Or, as a user of an "unfair trainer", it might be more accurate to say my problem not yours :okay:

P.S. That said, big difference between cheating by fiddling your weight for example vs just happening to use a trainer that is inaccurate to the extent it gives an unfair advantage - not really much people can do about the latter!

I agree entirely with this and also what Andy said.
Most of my riding is in fact social and i enjoy being in the larger groups. That said I don't require complete transparency in Zwift races. I just hope for a degree of honesty from riders and accuracy in power/speed measurements. As long as people are up front about strange trainer behavior then that's great. One of the regular Zsun racers jumped from cat C to cat A and was embarrassed about what his trainer was reporting and got the manufacturer to check it over. It is frustrating when people wont accept it, especially some dumb trainer owners which suspiciously high ftp but actually, so what. Its not that important. I am not racing Cat A or for money, just for fitness and fun. It doesn't matter either that i don't know most riders though that will change over time.

We have to be careful not to be too elitist in having these cosey race events. I find the biggest attraction from Zwift is the large number of competitors to race myself against.

I understand there are open category events-dont know which are?
That would be good to get Cyclechat to turn up and try and run like a TTT until the pack explodes and the leaders plough on at their pace, pretty much like Bridgy,Bill Aaac do now

The few times I have been in there I have recognised a couple of names that I have seen before in previous rides and tagged along with so I am sure we would have much the same as bkool but on a bigger scale and more people about our same level

For social rides I think that's fine, but if we did organise races i'd prefer to be open to all. I like have lots of other riders around, makes for a much more exciting, and strategic, race. I'm actually enjoying (but don't tell my mates over on the other tread!) learning the craft and tactics of racing on Zwift

My understanding that the organising of rides/races is in fact quite demanding not least because most race groups are run via FB not this cosy place^_^
And to be honest i think there are enough races to keep us all busy/happy and i am not sure what races we would run that would add the experience? Hound and hare races etc. are run on watopia. What can we add? apart from participation;)

I am really interested in the group training rides, everyone riding in a group according to ftp with a lead and discord and room for banter. I have not tried one yet but keep to do so.

I've been slack on the admin for the Strava Cyclechat turbo club, so there are a few member requests.

Anyone on here willing to join the dots on up on these requests?
