I have been foolish enough to sign up for a race, the Zwift team worlds this Saturday. I will be riding with a team from Zsun. When i agreed i assumed i would be a cat C and doing 2 laps of Watopia 8, so about 60km. Turns out my watts/pk took me into the bottom end of Cat B and so have 4 laps to do. 120km. Gulp! Watopia 8 is the hilly/flat route that you cover in both directions. The first lap will be mental, and likely also the final lap too-if i last to the end that is. The indicators are people will look to gain time on KOM's and then carry power over relaxing a little on the flats. Anyway, if you want to read about it details are here:

If i survive i will probably encourage those of you who remain post the price hike to consider setting up CC teams to compete next year. Obviously some riders take it incredibly seriously, and there has previously been a fair bit of cheating. But that's not why I or most others have entered. There are teams acr oss all category's and it would be good to train and then race with people we know not just here but IRL.

Feel free to look in and drop the odd Ride On to help me complete the race. Lots of dnf's last year and i hope not to be one of them this year.
All i can say is good luck and lots of it:tongue: if i remember as im working Saturday I'll happily give you a ride on:okay:

Good luck Bob it’s some test that. Getting around without needing resuscitation could be considered an achievement!

It says on the webpage anyone can enter and be allocated a team. Maybe some others here fancy it. I’m busy Saturday so....

Well, thats it. A 6 week threshold builder plan done.

I could have swarn I told the plan calculator to give me a 9 hour/week plan, but I ended up having a 7 hour/week plan, which turned out to be just perfect for me. I was creating/deleting plans several times, so could have confused myself a bit there.
For someone having smaller kids an a full time job, I wouldn't recommend more than 7 hours. The plan had 1 hour workouts and rest days monday - friday, and 2x2 hours workouts at weekends. The 2 hour workouts were really hard to accomplish mentally, and it didn't take long for me to take them "to the streats", meaning I downloaded the workout from TodaysPlan and saved them in the workout folder of my Garmin Edge 520.

The result: increase of FTP from 270 watt to 280 watt. I do think I could go a little higher, since I did the classic mistake of starting too hard. I averaged 300 watt after 15 min. but totally died the last 5 minutes
