Need a rest? Or an espresso beforehand?
Had a couple days off the bike, so I think OK in that regard. Nothing really abnormal today -- I'm typically in 2-3hrs of meetings right up until race time, so no opportunity to grab anything to eat or a coffee... Going to consider it just an off day unless it happens again this week.

I've been put in cat B. Guess I'm borderline C/B.
Been out taking advantage of the nice weather the last two weeks. Might give zwift a go tomorrow.

Andy,
There are 2 road to ruins races today, the afternoon one and a much later one at 7.40pm. Are you still planning to race and if so i suspect the earlier time? I hope to be there but it depends on work and i may have to opt for the later ride.

I would like to do earlier but can just squeeze the later one in, let me know your plans towards lunch
edit
I'm going to plan on the early ride Bob, The later one is just too late for me to get everything else done

Andy, rushing off but will struggle to get home in time let alone a warm up. Bloody work! Good luck if you go on-i will go for the later one.

Great time Andy especially given a lot of it solo. I am now crying off till tomorrow or Friday. Its my last day of antibiotics and I want to give it my best. So 40-50km tonight and a proper bash at it in a race. If you fancy another bash too let me know:okay:

A = FTP >= 4.0 && 5min >= 4.5 or 5min >=5.5
B = FTP >= 3.2 && 5min >= 4.0 or 5min >=5.0
C = FTP >= 2.5 && 5min >= 3.2 or 5min >=4.0

If we do not have 5 minute power available a 0.2wkg leeway is applied to your FTP calculation.
A = 4.2wkg
B = 3.5wkg (think this should be 3.4)
C = 2.7wkg

I think I missed out on the B cat due to my general W/Kg being 3.4. I'm not sure ZP has taken the latest results into account, ranking based 3 results prior, so maybe there will be an adjustment once it catches up

Constantly evolving:-

1. Initial category is assigned based on your first WKG value.
2. Starting points for each category are
D = 1000
C = 1500
B = 2000
A = 2500
3. Riders are downgraded if they have not hit category limits in the last 3 months.
4. Exceeding category boundaries will result in an automatic upgrade.
These are calculated as follows:
A = FTP >= 4.0 && 5min >= 4.5 or 5min >=5.5 or FTP >= 4.2wkg
B = FTP >= 3.2 && 5min >= 4.0 or 5min >=5.0 or FTP >= 3.4wkg
C = FTP >= 2.5 && 5min >= 3.2 or 5min >=4.0 or FTP >= 2.7wkg

If we do not have 5 minute power available a 0.2wkg leeway is applied to your FTP calculation.
A = 4.2wkg
B = 3.4wkg
C = 2.7wkg

Points calculation
1. Unfiltered results are used for positions.
2. Every subgroup in a race is treated as its own race. Riders only gain/lose points against riders in that group.
4. Riders will receive fewer points as their ranking increases. The K values are:
>= 2500 pts (K = 1.0)
>= 2000 pts (K = 2.0)
>= 1500 pts (K = 2.5)
>= 0 pts (K = 3.0)

It has me B (on the Pro) and you as C (on the Kickr) even though when I last raced on there we were together the whole race. Be interesting how quickly I drop down to C once I start racing on the Kickr ^_^ Although I stick to flatter courses so I may just be able to continue to race in B if I can hold my 250 FTP watts that I'm seeing on the Kickr in Bkool

Mine seems to have settled down at 1714. Looks like I'll be in C for quite a while as I don't get to 3.4 w/kg ftp or 4w/kg for 5 minutes. Have to do well in a lot of races to get to 2500 :smile:

It may also depend on the races you like to ride. I find it harder to put out the extra watts on a flat course compared to a lumpy or hilly or preferably mountainous course. I know watts are watts but there is definitely something about my muscle build and strength that makes it easier to put out the extra watts on a gradient.

I'm on a dumb trainer so it doesn't work that way for me. However when I go for my max power tests outside, I always do it on a hill.

And I'm the opposite (at least I was on the Pro, not really tested myself yet on a hill with the kickr and a non-slipping belt). I'm much strong on flats and struggle too much on the hills to put out and sustain watts (pretty much the same as my riding outside if I'm honest!)

Nice mini update
Hey Zwifters, this update is a little different as we'll be rolling it out to Zwifters over several days, with Apple TV being first (1/31), Mac following (2/1), and Windows and iOS coming in the days afterwards. We're doing this to verify some small graphics changes we made work with the many hundreds of different computer configurations Zwift can run on.

With that out of the way, this update contains bug fixes, some minor features to support upcoming big features, and a couple of new routes in the route picker.

Notable changes are:

  • Watopia 'Mega Pretzel' route added which covers all areas of Watopia in one route (except the bonus radio tower climb on the Epic KOM)
  • 'Greatest London Flat' route added which includes the recently added 'Richmond Park' flat road.
  • Graphics brightness auto-adjusts now so that caves, subways, valleys in shadow, etc are much brighter than before
  • Fondo Bambino 4 week training plan added
  • Distance based events now have a 3d holographic finish line added. This allows for the 5k and 10k runs to now have a visible finish. It also allows for more creative cycling events that could end anywhere on the course (ie, at the top of a climb).
  • Users without an FTP or run pace zones set can now inform Zwift of what their fitness level generally is so workouts can be performed at a more reasonable level without needing to take a test.
  • Fixed an issue where iOS and Apple TV devices could get into a state where they never see other riders until app was manually killed.
  • Gear shift indicator added for Wattbike Atom users
  • Bluetooth treadmill support for BowFlex BXT116/BXT216 treadmills
  • Bluetooth "FTMS" treadmill protocol added
  • Support for Gym bikes that use the Wahoo GymConnect protocol added
  • Cyclists in London moved closer to edge of the road to avoid head on collisions with opposing traffic
  • BETA: Running Pacer Bots can be turned on in some events. They will travel at the specified pace for each subgroup.
  • Footpod run cadence now senses if bluetooth pod is broadcasting steps or strides per minute
  • Fixed hologram treadmills from appearing outside of the warmup area for events
  • New running idle animation added
  • Lots of little bug fixes and behind the scenes changes
