am i right in thinking stage 5 is a time trial ! - well whoopee !! i hope my work mate kicks me in the spuds on the same day - would make the day perfect
I don't think so. ZwiftInsider did an update on this and noted that double draft was in effect, and as no drafting on a TT they think it's a normal stage. Gonna be some very very fast times on that flat course!

As your HRM stopped working after a km or so on stage 4 I think your stage 4 time should be discounted Whorty ... So you could offer Bob a wheel when you redo it
Did I say it stopped? I meant my heart rate 'stabilized' Check out ZP, I maxed a nice 107 HRM for the whole ride

I may have another go tonight but at a more relaxed pace. I'll have another 'proper' go over the weekend when the legs are a bit more recovered. It will all depend on the group I get into though. Yesterday the group I was in (that I got dropped from with the drop out) was a good minute or more behind any other rider, and the group behind that I joined up with was a minute behind us. It's often the group you get in with rides like this that dictate your final time :okay: It's that first 5 mins that decide what the best time you'll achieve 40 minutes later

I finished 90th of those on zp, about 30 s behind 1/2 of the group that dropped me and further behind the rest of the group that pushed on. Although my NP was ok at 240ish i just couldn't hit the 4w plus on the inclines to say with the fastest in the group. Not sure why given i can , for a while at least, normally do so. So i reckon i can be dragged along to a faster time IF i can get into and hang with a fast enough group.

For many of us, being able to hold on during the inclines is the key. I can easily stay with the group on the flats, but as soon as the road goes up and the group breaks up I struggle to stay at the front of the pack and get dropped. Happened on both KoMs yesterday ..... can't shift this extra bit of weight either so that's not helping :banghead:

Decided to add a little more structure to my Zwifting and focus more on the endurance side to be in a good place for this sportive. Looking at what Zwift offers, I was torn between the bambino fondo workouts, the fondo training plan or the grand fondo training plan. The fondo training plan is about right for me in regards to time I can commit to the bike so I've picked that. My intention is to do the first two workouts indoor then take the steadily increasing long ride outside unless the weather is rubbish. It's very similar to what the Hoy book said about endurance riding with a good mix of intervals and tempo rides.

I did the first ride this morning and it was a good ride without feeling too hard. I felt it but wasn't blowing up and my FTP was set to 196 as I couldn't get it back to 195 with the little slider thing haha. Compare that to my race the other night where I couldn't speak.. gasping for air.. legs shot to pieces... smarter not harder and all that? It gives me faith that my FTP is in the right ball park and not way out like I thought the other day.

I've got on the scales today and I've been riding 2kg overweight, should I change this or leave it? I'm bang on 60kg (set to 62kg) but do intend to add weight not keep here. 60kg at 195 FTP puts me 3.25 w/kg which is entry B... considering that I couldn't stay with the C's in the race is that wise?
