My Kickr hated high % gradients, resistance would be all over the place and power numbers very unreliable. Could be the same issue? Was you at 100% realism?
It's always on 100%.

I've not noticed a significant difference between the kickr and vectors. The vectors tend to read a little higher 5-15 watts depending on the power level.

This though was 30-50 watts in favour of the kickr. The resistance was fairly steady in that it hurt the legs @8-10% and almost killed em >10%. I was down a 65 cadence in parts.

Still I've had my go and suffered the painful legs and posted a time.

I did the TT and Zip/disc combo today and was 11 seconds slower. I gained on the flat, but lost about 40 secs on the climb. Ave watts on the flat was 2 lower today, and on the climb about 10 lower ... so for all intents and purposes about the same (overall ave 268 yesterday to 262 today).legs a little fatigued but I don't think this is why I was 11 secs down. So not sure there is really anything in it for me - be interesting if you see similar results.

Zwift TT + Zipp 808, 18:56@3.8w/kg.

Went harder on that flats at probably around or just above FTP. The climb probably a bit slower and lower than FTP due to weight of bike and wheels.

@Norry1 Just been looking through your Velo Strava segments. You went directly past our friend's house - they took some picks and posted up for us to see. They were quite excited by the ride coming through Shirley. Looking at the map you also went past a house we lived in 20 years ago

Cracking time by the way. Over 30 kph for 100 miles. A little more ascending than ToC, so you might go a bit quicker there :okay: I'd like to think that this gives me confidence that I can do ToC in 6 hours .... but I'm not so sure yet :banghead: Never actually done a 100 miles so it'll be new territory for me

Thanks - but time was a bit rubbish. Loads of stops due to crashes and had to walk best part of half a mile due to one of them. I tried to over-compensate over the last 75 miles and think I may have some Power PRs, but not looked yet as me and my good lady went out for a few beers this evening

Maybe i should do better warmup too. I can feel that my pipes and pumps are not very well sync together.

My pipes were primed but my pump definitely wasn’t working at full speed today - averaged just over 150bpm and I was working just over FTP. Normally I would be high 160’s at that output. I think I need a rest day. 17:05 @ 334w on the strava sector “Spaghetti Bolognese. On a TT bike with Enve wheels.

I missed out on S5 of ToW with laptop issues. Fired it up then needed the Bologna update followed by it hanging on the launch for 7+ mins. :cursing: I’ll have to wait for the catch up week to post a time.

Read the news that in the crash at 23 miles some poor chap died. Not released the details yet, but it was on a steep descent. Sounds horrendous .... were people just trying to ride too fast?

Hard to say what the causes are. Not many people are used to riding closely together for long periods and some can make sudden direction changes that can catch out the riders behind. I hit the deck - as we slowed at one of the stoppages, the guy in front came off and I must have not been concentrating enough and had a cleat moment - the guy behind me did as well! Nice scratches on new bike and a slightly sore wrist but otherwise no probs.

The positive news is that I felt really strong and was flying over the last 30 miles. Good omen for ToC which is my "A" race for the year.

It's precisely that that puts me off riding organised sportives on closed road. I'd love to do the Mallorca 312, but with 8500+ other riders, a lot of them trying to 'race', accidents waiting to happen IMO

Just knackered myself doing Giro Stage one :B)

I was filtering Strava for weight and Jacobs Skovsgaard popped up with 13.30!

That would of placed him 7th in the Giro for real:ohmy: :laugh:
Bkool fairy dust ;)

He probably uses his Quark PM for watts on Zwift and Bkool..

But that stage does not show up on either platform from him?

Which segment Andy?

13.30 for full TT course,. something like 5.10 for the climb.

If he is using Quarq PM. That it is massive power. Is it the same guy?

Yeah that's Jacob - who is definitely capable of some VERY big watts in the real world - but that ride is on Bkool software not Zwift, so I don't know how comparable it is to Zwift or real life. Looks like it was done on Bkool on a Bkool Air trainer.

It looks like Zwift have used the real location in Bologna to map this ride so the segment leaderboard is rather confusingly mixing up both Zwift and Bkool rides - not seen that before

It's Bkool fecking things up. First of all, even though Jacob packs severe power, I doubt he could go that much beyond his FTP for that duration and certainly not with an avg. HR of 139. Second, Laurens De Plus did the same watts and time and he weighs 67 kg, so something's wrong with the time as well.
