Did a Crit City race this lunchtime to see how much fitness I'd lost since the end of the last WTRL season and surprisingly the answer was not much! Second best 20 min power figures ever - admittedly my best were in the final round of WTRL (finished the season on a high), but considering I've only been on Zwift maybe 4/5 times since then and only one of those was a race, I'm glad I'm still keeping the numbers up.
As for the race itself, I held on to the lead group of C's until the 6th (of 8) laps, sometimes even getting near the front on the flat bits, admittedly towards the back on the climb; eventually got dropped with two other riders - won our mini-sprint for 18th (out of 34 on ZP) by going early when they weren't ready!

'New' and 'little' being very subjective
I spent yesterday evening ordering bike-specific tools. Cassette thingy, chain whip, crank thingy, chain separator, etc. Everything arrived this morning so spare bedroom now looks like this:
Two important things to note is that I already had some bike parts from a friend of a friend that crashed a bike - that includes Ultegra 6800 shifters in good condition so I'm not bothered by the rusted ones. I didn't have the brakes but the ones on this are actually OK and should be good with a bit of cleaning. Which leads me to my second point: There are parts of this bike that are near pristine and parts that are a complete write-off. I think that someone tried fixing it before but tapped out.
The guy I bought it from runs a business where he empties properties after international students. People come in to study, buy stuff (like bikes) and then when they're done they just leave it behind.
TLDR: It looks like I have all necessary components to put one bike together and even sell some spare parts. If anyone is interested in a 12-25 105 cassette that looks practically new (this came with the trainwreck bike), give me a ping:

I’m confident I could do (or learn to do) all the maintenance by bike needs but just don’t want to spend my free time doing it - I want to ride, not tinker!
Funny you say that...
I think that series that I filmed for last year is on tonight on Channel 5 (UK) at 8pm - Our Great Yorkshire Life! There is only 6 episodes so not sure if we have made the cut in Series 1 but there is a good chance quoits will be on your TV in the next 6 weeks!

If you have the tools then most bike maintenance can be done faster than the time it takes to take you bike to a shop, wait for the repair. And then go collect it again. You’ll actually most likely save time (And money)
