Best gravel bikes I believe are Cervelo Aspero, Canyon Grail and Specialized Crux (unless there's some that have come out in the past few months that are better). But you need to put branded wheels on them to make them better - don't stick with the default Zwift Gravel wheel.

Which gravel bike Whorty? I've only the stock MTB and a Scott MTB (bought for the colour).
Cervelo. I'll fly on those dirt sections .. just need to hang on and wheel suck the tarmac sections which given the road is fairly flat should be easy enough I think. Not sure the MTB would work as well as too slow on tarmac sections.

Dropped within the first mile despite giving it my all. Didn’t fancy doing another one hour plus solo time trial, so I started watching other riders (was recording footage anyway) and just did a Zone 2/3 ride blind for the next 35 minutes.

Did consider finishing the race, but thought that would be unfair on others who couldn’t take part today - being cursed with my non-effort time plus a further two minutes penalty.

I’ll probably skip the remaining stages as it’s not enjoyable being the weakest rider in the field by such a massive margin.

That would be a shame mate
It’s nicer in a bigger field as there is always someone near to you
I had it for ages in bkool
I hope you decide to stick with it 👍
Just treat it as a work out

Sorry to hear that Steve but I understand, that was long ride!

Well done everyone. Not sure if anyone escaped but didn't see anyone within a few mins of us so I assume we were the front group:okay:

Well done Tommy and Lee, a class apart.

Was a fun second group (way) behind. Spent the whole race waiting for someone to declare a gravel bike and put in a big attack. As it happened Rich and Alan put in two big attacks on the hill on the last two laps. I think my sprint has gotten a bit better with my new shoes (probably just in my head).

Alan actually put in a huge attack to bridge to the front 4 at the start, very impressive.

Was fun having a bit of a tactical battle, glad we didn't just ride for a bunch sprint in the end.

Did anyone go with a bike choice that paid off?

Stick in there Steve,:okay:. From early on I was all alone, until Alex seemed to ease up for me to catch him. We rode middle part of the race together. I was expecting Alex to do his explosive pace up the dirt section.

Thankfully he was having an off day. ;)

I did a couple of small digs to catch you back up again when you slipped ahead on the dirt, but I didn't seem to have it today after trying to hang with the middle group. I got dropped after about 7km in a rather annoying way. I think a drop of sweat on my phone changed my camera angle and while I was trying to work that out, they got 4s in front. I almost got back on, but it did me in and that was that.

I did ease off a bit as I saw you were about 20s back, but not that much. I think you also enjoyed having a target
Nice to ride together for a bit, but I didn't quite have it today. After you slipped away I knocked it back a bit and decided to finish without killing it.

But far more importantly than all that, I hit level 26 and have now got my Canyon Speedmax ^_^
