Well it's only the 2nd time CCC have won a stage, with the first being last week's TTT, so the answer is certainly yes!

How did it go, everyone?

I get the feeling it was another good night out for the CycleChat Splitters?!

You missed a bit of my sledging tonight @Whorty - think I’m a marked man in the next race now after taking the piss out of two guys who had two in the front four in the CCC race 🤣

Love your sledging .... cracks me up. Need to get you, @mjd1988 and me in a race .... probably get ourselves banned

Looking back on that @steverob I made two mistakes on the run in:
1. I hesitated when the eventual winner of FAL on the final sprint and at the finish dropped an invisibility power up to get a gap. I should have attempted to bridge that immediately but didn't. I was probably stronger than the TFHerts guy who also needed to bridge and I might have been able to drop him.
2. I hesitated when the TFHerts guy went long at the finish. I should have immediately followed him, but thought the BRT guy would chase because they were playing for a 1st/2nd finish, so I wanted to force him to chase and sit on him. In the end the BRT guy didn't chase and I didn't sprint very well so ended up coming 4th at the finish :B)

Lesson learned - in a small finishing group, chase everything immediately. I had the legs to do it yesterday but didn't and paid the price. One consolation was a second place on the final sprint, but I feel like I should have done better and been competing for the win on that sprint and the final placing!

I've only just had the chance to watch @bridgy's footage of the B's from last night. While I knew you'd won overall, I hadn't looked at the scores / margin of victory on the WTRL site beforehand, so when I watched it back I was gobsmacked by the way you guys absolutely dominated that race! There were multiple men in blue scoring at every possible prime, it really was a superb team performance.

A 1,2,3 at the Railway Sprint; FIVE riders in the FTS points on the Tower Sprint; just phenomenal!

The only thing that stopped Tommy taking full points on the KOM was that Jura had a guy drop back and blitz the climb while rested and, presumably, on a gravel bike.

Don’t click reveal unless you want to be slightly irritated…
If we’d dropped a couple of positions on the Railway Sprint FTS - for example Bram and Michael dropping to concede the win to the Team NL rider Crutzen - then Team NL would have scored enough points to push Jura down to third place and we’d be equal top in the league (provided that this didn’t in turn alter the FAL scoring…). It’s just one of the quirks of the scoring system and you can’t plan for that with anything but hindsight, but it is slightly annoying!

Awesome Sprinting there @bridgy:okay: I did like the super long attack sprint, left the others for dead. :notworthy:

post up your teams points scores, it will look impressive

After winning the second sprint, placing well in a couple of others including some FTS points, and then second place overall, I thought I might get the most points in the team this week......but Bram said "hold my Belgian beer" ^_^:notworthy:

to be fair it would have taken a lot of guesswork and quick maths at that point to have that much situational awareness! We will just have to beat them every week now to be safe

Are you saying that at full gaz effort sprint, you can't do a bit of mental arithmatic?:laugh:

It is a quirk of the points system but impossible to control ... so all we can do is keep winning the races each week then we have control of our own destiny and what Jura do will have no impact of us.

I think we have to assume they will put out a good TTT and may beat us into 2nd again ... so they are probably 2 points ahead of us at the moment, so we know we need to be ahead of them 2 weeks on points races at least.

Baring a miracle from them Tuesday, I can't see them beating us this week as Tommy has picked a team to dominate that course.
