Just seeing that it is 6 hours for the first update of the cadex Tri which doesn't feel like a worthwhile investment of time as I really don't enter TTs outside of ttts. Maybe I'll save that for downhills once the sl8 is done

My thought process on upgrades is...
You have to put work/time into climbing and mountain bikes, that need elevation for upgrades
Most bikes require distance, so use them on downhill and flat when you have energy to go at decent speed eg. 30kph+
TT frames simply require moving time, so use them on days you have little energy on flat routes, on mountains if you've upgraded your climbing bike

You can also use climbing bikes when you do a workout, pick a mountain route and you will be climbing all through the workout but the gradient is ignored (at least with respect to your 'feel'). You won't get free altitude, but the feel is different.

My strategy last night was Road to Sky - did the first flat 10 minutes to the bottom of the climb on the TT bike, swapped to the Aethos for the climb, then swapped back to the TT bike for the descent, so 20-25 minutes of TT bike time and about a thousand metres of elevation toward the climbing bike.

Started the climb inteding to just go at a steady medium pace, and then realised about halfway up that I was on target for a sub 1 hour time so my competitive side kicked in and I ended up having a much harder workout than I intended at the start!

I don't. Normally I would have seen some chat about it by now, but there hasn't been any. So I'm guessing we might not have a September series. But it is just a guess. I think they guys at DRS have all got a bit busy with life.

Yeah that's fair enough! I do like their race series so I hope they do get the chance to sort something out later in the year.

I'm contemplating looking for a ZRL team for that series starting in September. They use the old categories still and currently I'm a C, after having always been B. I don't know whether that's an accurate new level for me or just because of a lack of recent racing so I really ought to do some full on race efforts to find out!

I've been considering it myself. But I would be looking for a morning team if I did it. Also currently a C but as soon as I do a 5m >4.2 I think zMAP will put me back in B. Not done one of those since probably March/April though. Not sure if I can still do it. Maybe not yet.

Blimey, I haven’t even thought about Zwifting in so long. Just coming to the end of a three-week holiday - just arrived for three days in NYC after 16 days in Costa Rica. I got out for a couple of runs in the mountains which might have kept some of the fitness from slipping away but I’ve had a cold, joint pain and a killer sore throat since the weekend.

Between gallo pinto for breakfasts and many a casado for almuerzo, I’ve eaten A LOT of rice and beans in the past few weeks so I dread to think what the bathroom scales are going to be saying when I get home.

Hill climbing season starts in just over four weeks so I’m going to have some work to do…

Id be interesting. I'm currently a b but know I'll have lost fitness and suspect I've gained weight so will need to update that and enter some races to know

I suspect racing ZRL as "low B's" might be a bit brutal for us both, particularly knowing how dodgy those categories can be, but that doesn't mean it can't stil be some fun! I'll look into it and if I find a potential B team I'll definitely let you know Michael
