1st race was ok 283w but that was 15 down on last week but with the big week I've had not 2 bad ,2nd race went as I thought it would steadyish start split on the hill . Carl managed to bridge with a big kick . 3 of us at the back just rode until we picked up Carl after he paid for his big kick . The as we hit the bottom of the last climb where was about to make life uncomfortable for everyone as I didn't fancy my chances in a sprint I knocked my water bottle on to my apple TV remote which changed TV channels and disconnected me from zwift so after much cursing and frantic button pressing I ride to the finish alone ☹️

I certainly did pay!! I was hoping I could get over the 2nd lump on Alex's wheel then he'd drag me away from you guys but I didn't have the legs to hang on. The little recovery until you guys picked me up helped for sure.

Was a shame you lost connection briefly, would have been an interesting 4 way finish. Great riding with you guys again

Zwiftracing.app says you will be one behind me in both races
It got the expected finishes right on race 2.

Arunas isn't there though as not on ZP (I thought he would be down as "Private Player". Not sure why that didn't happen.)

Yes I knew Martin would beat me in a sprint and thought you would as well and the other guy I had no idea , so the plan was kick halfway up the climb and try and gap some of you and hang on ,really not sure I had the legs to carry it out but we will never know . It's was good to being racing with you again

I made the stupid mistake of writing a cheque my legs couldn't cash!!! I managed to bridge across to you leaders just before that first climb so I was already in the red. I managed to crest with you, just, but from then I was on borrowed time. Legs were jelly and couldn't hang on.

I did the same on lap 2. Managed to hold on with Chris to the top and down the descent, but had to let him and Martijn go on the final climb as I was toast. But I was looking at you guys and thinking I could recover a bit, cruise to the finish and then ramp it up if you started getting too close.

Im riding up the Alp tomorrow with my daughter. She wants to train for thr real thing this summer.

She's following the TDF and wants to be there at the top seeing the finish

That's a decent bit of base training :okay:

I dont post often so a couple of days late. I retired 6 months ago ( 63) and took up weight training 3 months ago. I started taking creatine a week ago and one protein shake a day. I have had high blood pressure for years and been on Ramapril for 6 years. My blood pressure is still fairly high usually about 135 over 85 or therabouts. well I got up last night off the sofa and was a bit wobbly. Took my blood pressure and it has crashed for me that is to 120 ish over 62 ish. Also I did a Vo2 max session yesterday and noticed my heart rate refused to go over 159, when my max heart rate is normally around 168.
On googling creatine can do this, lower blood pressure and bring down your max heart rate. This seems a good thing for people like me with high blood pressure ~( makes the arteries more elastic) but maybe not for people with low blood pressure like my missus ( 95 over 63 ish).
Just something to be aware of, if you get a bit wobbly your blood pressure may have crashed.
Note to early for me to notice if it gives me any gains in the gym. I am going to ring my doctor if blood pressure stays low over the weekend.

Oh interesting will keep an eye on my numbers. Thankfully no obvious Ill effects to date although early days. Interesting to read It.helps with cognition in sleep deprived people, as a parent of young nocturnal children

Sorry, missed races again this morning, been struggling with my sleep pattern since around Xmas and feel like I'm coming down with another lurgy. Probably doesn't help that I've been embracing TDZ and doing bits of many group rides since Monday's race, already up to 7hrs for the week when I typically do 5-6 hours and my max in last few years isn't much more than 8.

Arunas is from my IRL club. He's got a very good aerobic engine, but not a huge kick.
Quite new to Zwift though, so has the disadvantages associated with being a NOOB.

He tried to drop Martin and me on the final climb before the sprint but we sat on his wheel - once over the top I could sit on his wheel and planned to jump him. Martin went first and I knew I didn't have the legs to beat him, so let Arunas chase, then I pushed past him when he started to slow. Once he gets a few more Zwift races under his belt, and the tactics, he'll be hard to beat at our level. He was very strong today for sure.
