Ah, the P2.
Most of the design was completed prior to Ford getting their hands on the comlany and almost destroying it with their breathtaking ineptitude, making that generation the last of the decent Volvos until the Chinese bankrolled the SPA series cars.
Those wheels aren't original to that car.

Sadly no, the original was a P3 generation vehicle, derived from thr Ford EUCD platform.
They went well enough, and certain engine options were very robust, but overall there was a lot of Ford component sharing the FoMoCo parts were built down to a price. Throw in very dicey Ford electrics amd they could be very troublesome indeed.
Same with the P3 V70. A decent drive, but a woeful departure from the solidity of the P2 and P80 cars. Mrs D had one and it was shockingly bad with rampant electrical problems at only 60k miles.

I seem to remember sitting at a 3 lane junction as an old Sierra sat next to me and a then new Mondeo pulled up next to the Sierra.
What struck me were the lines...the angles of the windscreen seemed to perfectly match each other...as well as other proportions.
Two examples locally, one at my ex work, cant remember the age but its black and looks in fabulous condition, stunning.
The other is up the road and hasn't moved afaik in some time, looks one step from a scrapyard.

I see this regularly with (often) delivery drivers, a cradle on the screen with a mobile phone attached. It clearly obstruct the view so really really shouldn't be allowed.
You'd like to think the Police would take a dim view but it seems quite prevalent out there.

Aye, I've had an F56 electric. All the electoral connectors were Bosch, the paint beautifully applied, even the tiniest fasteners and washers were high quality. There may be design issues that cause recurring issues, but certainly not undue penny pinching with their construction. Certainly looking at Mrs D's EX40 Volvo have taken a step back in that direction.
I do miss the Mini, but dont need a car and it's a lot,of money to keep tied up in something that wasnt being used.
BTW, I have an F56/R56 rear seat delete false boot floor, converts it into a mini 2 seat estate, if you want it.

I agree the quality of it is certainly BMW Audi feel to it!
It's having a wheel bearing replaced next week then it should be great!👍
