Paul O'Connell out of the World Cup.
This is a big blow - for him, and for the team. I'm sure we all wish any player a speedy recovery from injury...Paul O'Connell I would put in the same frame as Alun Wynn-Jones, Greg Laidlaw, BOD, Victor Matfield etc - all catalysts for getting that little bit extra from a team in the tightest of situations.
Anyway, wishing him a full and fast return to fitness...he must be gutted. Mourad Boudjellal has two injuries of note to his current crop of Galacticos.

That's what the Australian TMO said after making his judgment. He also mentioned how easy it was to get things wrong by looking at videos. Pocock's knee in the gut being a typical example of perfectly acceptable play and not warranting any sort of sanction.We'll just have to win it without them

Sagacious commentary on the World Cup disciplinary methodology. Throughout this tournament, Dean Ryan has offered (and usually does during any given season of domestic rugby) an astute point of view. Tough nut. In my coaching team, he would be forwards coach, Shaun Edwards the backs motivator and overall, M******** or J*********** ...perhaps.
