Mine currently with Canyon sorting a very odd Di2 problem. See this thread....

https://www.cyclechat.net/threads/di2-difficult-diagnosis.214096/

When you say 0%, do you mean the system is dead, which could just be a loose cable, or do you have some means of measuring the battery level, for example a d-fly?

Yeah I have a d-fly unit on my system. When in the lbs had it plugged in the battery went up to 15% but after unplugging dropped to 10% so think either the battery is dodgy or something is shorting and pulling power from the battery. Will see what the lbs say when they've had a look. If it's a short could mean unplugging each device to eliminate various components to narrow down the issue.

Hope you get your di2 sorted, it's a great system when working. Just glad mine went before i had gone on the ride and then being left 40-50 miles from home stuck in one gear to get home.

It does sound as though it's going to be a pain in the bum. Good luck with finding it.

My system had covered about 7000miles without even a whiff of a problem, so it's not like it's failing every five minutes. The Canyon mechanic managed to reproduce the problem, which was my main concern, so I suspect they'll change out the battery and see where that takes it. I did get an email from him mildly rebuking me for dirty Di2 cables amongst other things. More on this in another thread......

Will have to slum it on my old mechanical bike until sorted. Shame as that only rocks a sora groupset with 18 gears. At least like you said the screwdriver works on that one if there a problem.
I don't quite understand the problem now ... I thought you must only have the one bike, the one with di2. Why didn't you just take the duff bike home and go out on the other one?

You can ride, you can't change gear. Think of it like a really crap fixie.
Pfffft. And people are willing to pay hundreds of pounds for this as an 'upgrade'?! I'll err on the side of generosity and conclude that there must be some clever marketing men out there....

Ok so an update bike is back in action LBS changed out the battery and it seems to be holding charge just need to keep an eye on it. Glad it was warrantied though as battery was £140. They are so expensive as they also contain the memory module Fingers crossed that was the cause of the issue.

When the system is working a cable system doesn't even compared to the ever consistent shifting of a electronic system. Granted when it goes wrong it's a pain in the butt, but both shimano and sram systems are mostly reliable (i say with a grin on my face after my issue). If it wasn't worth the upgrade most pros won't be using these systems.

I've never used Di2 so I will take your word for it being better. What I do know is that since I learned to index my gears I haven't had more than a handful of missed changes in the last 8,000 miles of cycling, and that's consistent enough for me.

Regarding the pros - fair enough if you race. But to justify an upgrade based on what pros use/do use is a nonsense in general cycling terms. Their priorities are completely different to most amateur/leisure cyclists. Do you also ride tubular tyres and bin them for new ones every few hundred miles? Do you ride deep section carbon wheels? Do you have a support car with a spare bike for when your Di2 packs in 50 miles into a ride? If not then those are all upgrades you might want to invest in too :okay:

Count yourself lucky you weren't trying to sell the bike - last Saturday a lovely young couple drove all the way from near Penistone to ours near Blackburn with their tiny baby to buy Mrs Gti's car and when they test drove it the flippin' power steering broke. It cost us £1000 to repair. We delivered it to them on Thursday.

We know that already - just look at cars. Adverts mostly show happy smiling people whooshing along empty roads, not the frustrated ragers sat in queues and puttering through speed-limit zones that the majority experience.

If it wasn't worth the upgrade most pros won't be using these systems.
Pros aren't paying for them themselves, or maintaining them themselves, for starters. Some of their equipment, most pros don't really get a choice, but have to use what their sponsors want to sell to rich fools who say "If it wasn't worth the upgrade most pros won't be using these systems" (dons fireproof underwear ;) )

You're doing cable systems wrong. Don't worry - lots of people do.

What are you? Twelve? Next you'll be remarking on how far Penistone is from Scunthorpe...
