Dogtrousers

Lefty tighty. Get it righty.
That’s almost all I use my dropper post for! Whenever I stop I drop it so I can stay seated whilst I’m stationary and I drop it for mounting and dismounting.

I do also occasionally use it for technical trails but that is by far the minority use.
Seriously? I was joking (or half joking) but it may actually be a practical step.

Blimey they are not cheap.

Alternative flexibility method...

(For some reason, I am very flexible this way. I have no problem sitting cross-legged and getting my nose down to the floor!)

I (aged 70) was discussing that subject with one of my sister's neighbours (aged 77) last month. Neither of us can stretch down to touch our toes; we can barely reach our shins!

Our conversation was overhead by another neighbour (late 70s) who declared that toe-touching was not a problem, and proved it to us. In fact, knuckles on the ground wasn't a problem either. She then completed our humiliation by stretching down and putting the palms of her hands on the ground...

Time for me to start going stretching exercises!

I (70 in a few months) can still get my palms flat on the floor plus get up from sitting on the floor without using my hands.

Re socks & underpants, I can still get these on without sitting down or having to lean against a wall, etc. A tad more wobbly than I used to be!

Although I think that’s not so much to do with old age but the price of a pint nowadays.

OT - but £8.50 per pint at Lytham St.Annes golf course.:wacko::wacko:

She did have a slightly smug grin when she did it!

There is actually something called the ape index. The ratio of your arm span to your height. A large ape index is good for rock climbing, plus touching toes. Body dimensions as well as flexibility affect ability to touch toes with straight legs a lot.

Oh yes. Biggest issue for me, is one of my big toe nails is quite brittle, ever since I broke my toe some years back, and it doesn't take much to leave a tiny sticky out splinter of a nail, which in turn causes untold pain !

Thought you were still working? If under pension age of 66, do not think you can call yourself old just yet.

Ones ape index can decrease with age due decreasing shoulder mobility however also one’s spine compresses with age so you get shorter. So all in all it’s equal 🦧
