Your defensiveness blinds you to the fact that we're mostly drivers. And that owning a 4x4 so that one can pull a couple of horses is not at the top of the world's envy list.

Now if it were donkeys...

Yes but you had to go for the 'sensible' Tino cos your missus said so when you really wanted something with a little bit 'more'

......who shall remain nameless, has a theory that there are more than a few members of CycleChat who don't even own a bike.

Do you think that's so and does it matter?
no I don't think it's true

I don't really need anyone to tell me how serious or otherwise a cyclist I am. I do it out of necessity and because I enjoy it. I'm not a big fan of bike (or any ) snobs

Thing is linf, it's only really the gormless twunts that are a risk to cyclists. Chuffy wasn't generalising, so you don't need to jump to the defense of drivers as is your compulsion.

The problem is the compulsion to try and shift bad behaviour by some cyclists to bad behaviour done by some car drivers.

If you want to behave like a knob on the road, you are perfectly capable of doing it regardless of modal choice.
