I already have a garmin 310XT for triathlons but I have decided to splash out on an Edge 800. The main aim of this will be to preplan routes online ( ridewithgps.com for example) and then follow them on the 800. Wiggle do a package which is base unit plus OS 1:50k maps fo GB. I am right in saying that this will provide a nice OS map for me to follow my pre-planned route on? I am not expecting Tom tom style rerouting, but would love to be able to plot a nice rural route and just follow it easily without having to keep stopping and look at the map.
The other bundled offers are performance pack (cadence and HR) which I am not bothered with (I know my cadence, and already have a HR strap with the 310XT, but if I can get a package deal with them in, all the better
The other mapping is the European maps. Any good?
