I can rotate the feeder round a scale. I use it at the coarsest setting. I tried a finer grind but prefer the flavour when coarsely ground.
As a general rule, the optimum grind will differ depending on your coffee-making technique and equipment - a relatively coarse grind for filter or cafetiere users, much finer for mocha or espresso.

St Patrick was a Scot who was kidnapped and taken to Ireland as a slave.

I always thought he was Irish, at least he did most of his work in Ireland

I read that before I started using the grinder but didn't really believe that it would make much difference. Then I tried a finer grind and didn't like it. Now I use the coarsest grind setting and am happy with that.

I buy strength 3 beans from Aldi. I might give the 4 and 5 another go but previously I found those a bit too strong.

I am not really a coffee aficionado but I do enjoy a pot most afternoons.

It has various settings but I just use it manually. I press a button and it grinds for about 5 seconds. I have to that about 5 times to get through the full scoop. I can see when all the beans have been done but I usually just listen. I can hear when the last of the beans have gone through.

Yes. The beans are fed in from above and go through a pair of concentric slotted metal grinders. The ground coffee falls through and down into the container below.

THIS is the grinder.

Ha - I have just read this in the blurb...

It ain't quite anti-static enough!

This threads grinding me down!🀣

I think that I might have been a bit unfair on that anti-static technology!

I just made a pot of coffee and remembered to grind the beans first rather than later in the process. Leaving them standing in the container for 5 minutes was enough to almost completely drain away the static charge.

Most of the grounds emptied easily into the pot. One tap on the side of the container loosened most of what was left.

Ahem ... incorrect :smooch:
The freshly ground coffee is sticky because the grinding releases the oils in the beans.
Maybe you did grind a bit less than your usual, so less oils released?
If your grinder has a plastic container I guess any static electricity is ... grounded

I believe static electricity is very much a thing associated with (coffee) grinding. I seem to recall my grinder has some kind of grounding wire or antistatic plastic inside it to mitigate the "problem"
