i have the chance to buy a dawes 300 for £180 is it worth it i am a novice and have little knowledge but this is about my limit moneywise

i have the chance to buy a dawes 300 for £180 is it worth it i am a novice and have little knowledge but this is about my limit moneywise

How old is it? It seems a bit pricey for a basic road bike. Mines about 6-7 years old now, cost £315 brand new, 16 speed sora, aluminium frame, steel forks. Nice basic road bike that rides well.

OK if it's in good nick, low mileage and most importantly is the right size. Look to see how worn the drive-train is, if the teeth are really rounded off then it's maybe done some miles and may be quite a few quid to replace parts.
