nice one jack thanks. im just drifting really looking for how i feel about it because i haven't been attracted to long rides until the last month, which now they seem very appealing. i think your right though the pelt looks a brill deal. im really going to check out the components 2mrw in detail but for the price i could even upgrade something on the pelt couldnt i?

Does your phone not have an 'F' key ;)

Get the white Felt , red bar tape and matching tyres, and some coloured bottle cages and bottles, job done

yeah vickster i feel that regarding the specialised. maybe its their name, theyre not that specialised really, theyre, standard. my gf has a specialised mtb and although nice i find others in the range more appealing, merida, for instance. but im grasping all the tech talk slowly, so know my opinion is worth shoot hehe.

just get a nice set of wheels for the "f"elt if you want to go faster and lighten the weight, shimano rs11 wheels can be had for under 100 quid, they are reasonably light and have a low spoke count s look cool, very nice hubs too and as vick said bar tape can be had from as low as a fiver to change the colour

ill add all the bikes i buy are specialized now so how dare you knock them! although that felt may make me change tradition, im already looking at bar tape colour options lol

dunno if that was a joke or you still cant spell it haha if you do get it pop to start cycles in town they have lots of bar tape and tyres to customise it with, always ask if you buy two tyres if they will do you a deal ( the small guy must be in charge from what ive gathered )

yep i know of the small guy from start cycles.

thanks for the links vickster, much appreciated.

does anyone consider tyres retailing at 50 to 100 pounds are remarably better than the wiggle ones for a tenner?

I don't think there are many £50 tyres. The more expensive ones tend to either be super race ones or super puncture resistant and heavy. @jefmcg audaxes on the Vittorias, others use for commuting, very good value tyre for a tenner in loads of colours. You could go orange, yellow, green, blue, red and then match the tape. Lime green would look lush on a white bike (or even a black bike if you must)

This is my preferred tape http://www.wiggle.co.uk/fizik-performance-handlebar-tape/

start do schwable lugano's for a tenner each they are decent grip wise and have a kevlar guard i wouldnt bother shelling that much out on tyres

thanks again vickster. the idea or orange tyres sounds very appealing. i think i will get a Felt 95 theyre very appealing and especially so factoring in the cost. and me being new to road racers.

are you suggesting black bike with orange tape and tyres? that would be pretty sweet wouldnt it.

how hard is bar tape to get right?

do Carradice saddlebags require a saddle with loops..?
the larger ones do but the 7.5 litre Maxi just attaches with three Velcro straps and ive started adding an extra plastic tie for some extra stability. the maxi is a very large s
addle bag for 17 quid which is an excellent item having used it for only a week.
