I need a new source of fish cakes since Tesco stopped selling theirs, but there's no Aldi here. I tried some Bird's Eye ones recently, and they were terrible. Just a tasteless slop that was verging on liquid. I tried these too, but their mediocrity far exceeded their value.

It's a pity their soft fruit doesn't keep. I'm sure they genetically engineer it to go soft after a few days.

Morrisons do a "the best" range or something like that and they are really good.

Must admit though, I only buy them when they're on yellow sticker.

Aldi’s King prawn, chicken & chorizo paella is excellent.

Sainsbury's do a wide variety of premium ones with fancy ingredients at a price, like the ones I linked to, but they don't have any plain bog standard ones like Tesco did, which is why I tried the Bird's Eye ones instead. If either of them had been really nice I'd have paid the extra, but they were worse than Tesco's cheapies.

M&S used to do a plain salmon and perhaps a white fish one
