Aldi winter cycling gear..

popped in this morning on my way to work, tried few jackets on, but the fit was not perfect, so just bought some milk chocolate which i'm eating now..

I was at my local store just after 8,very quiet.I only really needed the water proof trousers (And a pair for my Mate) but to get my £5 off with the voucher out of the Mirror I guess I had to spend more (Thats what I'm telling myself anyway).
I also picked up a pair of socks,compression top and bottoms and a Merino top which I may end up wearing off the bike as I like it so much.
Am I ok washing the Merino top in the machine or should it just be hand washed ? It will probably get washed with the rest of my Cycling/Gym stuff as I dont use Fabric softner on that load.
I was very impressed with the winter jackets but I already have one so I gave that a miss.

Been to my local Wigan store

Did they have most of the stuff? Wife is on the way (I'm seeing a pattern here, a few of us seem to have very helpful other-halves!), I'm hoping I don't have to try a store near work. Don't want to have to lug a bike stand home on the train.

Picked up a pair of gloves first thing this morning.

The hipotex gloves just withstood my running water test.
An improvement so they will be for wet winter best.

Had a look in earlier and picked up some gloves, shoes (the 3 strap Velcro ones) a set of lights and some of those reflective bands. Oh, 2 packs of diced chicken too - good value.

That lot cost me £51 (without the chicken) however I have since ordered some SPD pedals from CRC £20 minus a £5 evoucher that they sent me.

So clip-less for £35! that's not bad

got the blue winter jacket ,bargain for £16, wigan store was selling out of jackets 15 mins after opening ,loads of stock on the other stuff

Aye. The gloves seem to be the bizz. Also bought some waterproof trousers (last ones holed underneath at where the seams join), reflective spokes thingies, winter socks (thin but warm... wierd), small LED lights (nice)

Held back on owt else (don't know how) as I've got enough Aldi cycle clothing at home to sink a flippin battleship.

Wigan had a lot of everything, the jackets seemed to be going like hot cakes. I reckon by lunch time they'll have all gone.

Any idea how long the waterproof trousers are? I've been on the look-out for a pair, but all the ones I've tried are like 3/4 lengths on my lanky legs!

I bought one of the tool kits - nice and handy to shove in a pannier when I'm leading bike rides.

Large appear to be around 31.5 inch.

I went for a look, hadn't planned to buy anything, but the winter jackets seemed really good quality and have YKK zips, but they didnt have any XLs left. Shoes looked good but no hope for size 12, so ended up empty handed.

I could really use a similar type of winter jacket.
